I've had my 200sx RS13U (european spec, which comes with the CA18DET) for 14 years. I bought it from an 82 year old man, Mr Price, who stayed in my home town, Cape Town South Africa. He imported it brand new in 1992 from Belgium to South Africa. I bought it from him (I was the second owner from brand new) for R18 000 ($1158) in 2008, it had 78 000km (48 000 miles) Full service history, everything was OEM, including the rims, radio, sunroof bag, full tool kit and jack and some other OEM goodies from Nissan in Belgium. After 14 years of ownership, she still puts a smile on my face, hearing the turbo and exhaust sound. Looking at her all polished and clean always makes me think what a beautiful car that Japanese made. My 200sx still is OEM, with a full service history, original radiator, original shocks, original springs (never cut), still stock height, original rims, original midnight blue paint, the only upgrade i ever did to my car, was a stainless steel exhaust and T28/T25 turbo, original exhaust manifold, original injectors. She is making a reliable 158kws and 285nm. The current milage is a very healthy 184 000kms (114 332 miles) still full service history, i change the oil and oil filter every 5000kms (3100 miles). If you guys would like to see pictures of my car follow me on instagram @200sx_ca18det

YAY \o/ SR20DET build done in 2022. I have a "project" car that's been unloved for years gathering dust in the garage for well over a decade due to circumstances beyond my control. It's JDM import. It's SR20DET powered - it has the late 90's air filter, 3" cat back exhaust (drooooone), the 3 aftermarket gauge pod on the driver's A pillar, the 18" wheels with painted on rubber, the whiteline lowering springs, the blow off valve, the oil catch can, the Profec B boost controller - was running 1.2bar on the stock turbo as a daily. All that "back in the day" stuff. Sadly the uprated heavy clutch caused the demise of the clutch release arm by way of a hole being punched through it by the rod it pushes on (known issue at the time). I had to park it up and mothball it due to lack of funds. Keep meaning to get to it, but.... f****ng life just won't give me a break :( Hope I can get some inspiration here and see what is now possible. Maybe bring myself to look at it again. It depresses me having it there to the point I can't look, but not letting it go... because.. one of these days I'll be in a position to sort it :D

It actually wasn't spot on though. Gas doesn't refer to a gas. It's just an abbreviation for gasoline. The word gasoline much more accurately reflects the refined state of petroleum than the generic word 'petrol'. So funny how people don't know this. As far as measurements, definitely some truth there, although C sucks for your average person. Great for science though, but doesn't have the range of F. But hey, don't take the correction personally. Lots of people get it wrong

15:10 I've heard that gas vs petrol statement so many times. It's not called gas because it's a vapor, it's short for gasoline. Petrol (short for Petroleum) is straight up crude oil. Gasoline is the distilled and processed derivative of Petroleum. Petroeum doesn't go in your fuel tank; gasoline does. But hey to each their own.

As an owner of an S14a for the last 16 years, really looking forward to this build. Not sure about in Oz, but over here, those lights are rare as hen's teeth and £££££££. Anything SX is gone hard to get and big $$$ over here now.

After 10 years and starting with a 500$ vw jetta, I've finally traded my way up to a 93 s13 hatchback. No rust, tasteful mods and I could not be happier right now. Sorry just had to share

I had it's brother. The 240 SX convertible. It was a fun little car to drive around the beach in for sure but I should have found one with a stick. The auto trans in that car was trash. Best of luck with yours. I'm sure it's going to be even more fun than I had with mine.

I like how you guys made an exact copy of your original garage in the new big garage!

Ok, ya got me. After watching a few series and now seeing this is the new one? Consider me subbed. This is gonna be an awesome build.

Do that compression test! These older cars that burn oil usually do because the oil rings clogged up, but the compression rings are fine! Just run a lot of seafoam through them (then change the oil!) and they are fine! Worked on the last 4 cars I bought! (and I got killer deals by exaggerating the cost to stop the blue smoke to the owners ;) )

29:48 thanks for that, nice to know they meet the safety standards of the standards of the standardisation of the standardised standards, i was beginning to worry that they didn't meet the safety standards of the standards of the standardisation of the standardised standards.

Soo refreshing to hear you’re building a modest powers car and not turning it up to eleventy 👍

This is so sick I’ve been watching vids since the red Daihatsu in the driveway and just got a 100% stock clean white s13 and can’t wait to see what you do with yours!!!!

Amazing build! I love it. I have a big project coming up as well and this video makes me very excited and looking forward to it. In August I will swap the old N/A diesel engine in my VW Bus with a turbo charged version. Almost everything under the hood will be going in the bin (purity box). Can't wait to watch more of the 180SX and hopefully in a few years when I got time and space they will still be affordable.
