Never in the history of music has any Steelband ever come as close to perfection bar this classic executed by the mellifluous Casablanca Steel Orchestra. Brilliant!!

Listening to this piece played by a Steel Orchestra (Casablanca) could bring on the waterworks. This is what Laventille could produce given the opportunity. I think about the players, burning some midnight oil (and some have to go to work the next day) I tip my hat to ALL the pan players of especially from the Steel band Festival time frame, You know who you are, and what i am talking about. All for the LOVE of the Steel Pan. NO Bread. Young players keep up the good work. Not forgetting the Conductor Mr. Anthony Prospect. Job well done

Heard this in the seventies or early eighties (?) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. It’s the best I’ve heard so far. Maybe PanTrinbago could bring back classical stuff and earn their keep.

I was in the audience that memorable evening when Mr. Prospect conducted this astounding performance. I was gripped by the orchestral excellence, the perfection in each note. Under a magical tropical sky a stadium of thousands sat in complete silence untll the very last note then rose to their feet in unison and roared with applause. The 1812 Overture had never been played so well. A glorious experience. Thanks to all.
