1820s Antique Magnifying Glass Restoration - HENRY HUGHES

Hello my dear friends.
I am happy to share a new restoration story with you. Our guest in this story is an antique magnifying glass.
The product of Henry Hughes & Son Ltd, which was produced between 1828 and 1941.
My guess is it's a marine product. I learned from a few of my sailor friends that this is a map reading magnifier.
I worked very hard in this restoration and gave all my effort. I did some pretty intense brass metal crafting. I completed the missing parts with my antique lathe and oxygen welding.

I am very happy that I chose this product, quite a unique and beautiful piece. I hope you like it too.

You are absolutely right Lucie. I think Montaigne's findings in the 1500s are still valid today. I have read his essays many times over many years. I caught different tastes in this book every time due to my age.
