A violin solo recorded for Edison's Phonograph on the last day of the 1889 Paris World's Fair. The announcement heard, when translated into English, says "November 6, at the Top of Mr. Eiffel's Tower". The speaker and violin player remain unknown.

WOW!!! this is amazing crude but its wonderful to find something like this 133 years later

Sounds terrible. But recordings don't get much earlier than this. Just the fact that it has survived all these years is amazing in itself.
