Nice review bud! That is probably the best of all the jacknife type setups I have seen. It is expensive but you get what you pay for considering this requires zero out of the package finishing and the pick selection is great for an EDC setup compared to the various others I've seen. Best of all you can order replacement picks for it and possibly aquire a greater selection of picks to suit your needs. I like this! Mad Bobs does it's customers well. The only thing that is a problem is the turnover time. I know that I wouldn't prefer to have to wait at least 5 weeks minimum but if you are comfortable with that then the rest seems like pros!

Tee hee.. I ordered the Carbon Fibre Jackknife, a custom set of Ghost picks and a couple sets of his prybars 5 weeks ago, got an email two days ago they are shipped!! Can't Wait!!!!!

Another great review buddy. I have been looking at this one, and price has been my main reason for not getting one yet. That and the waiting. But I will probably get on the waiting list for one eventually. I still haven't gotten my Hook an Rake set, and I ordered it April 14th, although you do have to agree to up to 5 weeks wait for your stuff. As you stated, it's probably worth the money. Thanks for the review.

Great review! I have both versions on order and I can't wait for them to arrive. Its been a few weeks, but if past orders are anything to go by it will be much longer till I get them. It took almost 6 months for me to get the ergonomic pick set. And in all honesty, it was worth it.

It's great to carry on you when you can't have a set of full size picks. I have kept it on my keychain for about 6 months and haven't lost the wrench yet. The pick selection is great, and It takes up less space than my car key. The wrench isn't that horribly useful for me(just a short handle and I don't like the rounded tip), but I also just keep a set of wrenches in my wallet so no biggie. I have had no problems getting feedback with it. It is worth every penny in my opinion. Thanks for your review!

I got mine in today. They don't have the lanyard anymore. I think that is important to have because these are so small, a lanyard would be helpful to have as a way of attaching the Jackknife to your person with a chain or something like that. Excellent little tool. Well worth the price, and wait. Mine has mad.bob 003 on one side. Maybe version #3 ?

I love those jackknife picks. I have 2 carbon fiber and 2 like the one showed. Thats the old model they don't do the key chain link any more. At least the 2 I purchased several months ago. Maybe you can ask for theme special now, IDK. great tool though.

Thanks for the review. I noticed you had a slight difficulty with finger placement because of the large knob. Is it an issue? I think it may have been design to pick the European style, so that it is less in the way. What I usually do (for the tools that I make for myself) is to flip the picks so that I can pick American style. I guess this is what happens when you live in Europe but learn to pick from Bosnian Bill, Dr. Bint, Wizlewazle and such :D

It has changed. The loop is gone while a pin remains. And the screw at the far end is now a set of torx screw & nut.

Mad Bob said they shipped my Ghost Pro Hook and Rake set, so I decided to order this jackknife. i Ordered today because they only had 2 available for pre-order. I fully expect to wait up to 2 months for this to arrive. One advantage of a kit like this is, you don't drop, and lose a pick ( like I do, all of the time) I will update on this video, when the jackknife arrives.

The only other Folding Jack knife style Pick set I've seen that offers the same variety of replaceable Picks is the Southern Specialties one. They also sell Pick blanks for theirs in case you want to add your own profiles eg. a Boomslang 😀 see www.lockpicktools.com/folding-sets/

I find this an interesting phenomenon. You guys pay a hell of a lot in taxes but this is actually in line price wise with the better quality US production brands and is more of a custom look and feel. It is not quite double what we would pay for cheap Asian made crap. So I find the price very reasonable for a hand made tool.

I think it's for occasional emergency use. Good quality and you would be surprised how good the picks and profiles are, but certainly it's not a replacement for a good kit :-)

It sits in my pocket as a jackknife would. It is not a replacement but an addition. Wandering in the backyard I opened all the locked gates on my property. But I would not be wandering with my picksets in a pocket.
