My theory is that all the returning non-MCU Marvel actors are actually simply playing variants of Ralph Bohner (ala Evan Peters in Wandavision). So Patrick Stewart is playing Elderly Bald Ralph Bohner, Tom Cruise is playing Scientologist Ralph Bohner, etc Dr Strange is brought before the "Council Of Bohners" due to his crime of sleeping without a shirt on (as seen at the beginning of the trailer).

Ooohhhh, I really like the "Professor X is hiding mutant kind" theory. It's actually a brilliant way to introduce a ton of mutants at one time and creates a new story arc that can basically carry an entire phase, like the infinity saga did and the multiverse is doing now.

The problem is, whenever they introduce some "secret"-characters now, that have been hiding in the main MCU-universe, the audience will always ask themselves: Where were they when Thanos attacked? For example. if the Xmen existed all this time why didnt they help with the fight? Isnt the fate of their world/universe worth the risk to go out of hiding?

I don't think him looking up the 14 million timelines for the Thanos battle will be what sets it in motion. If anything, it's likely that because he said there was only one where they won, that he actually saw that if the killed/disarmed/Ant-Man-butt-plugged Thanos then the TVA would show up and reset the timeline. Why can he only see one where they win? It's because any alterations just get wiped by the TVA until the events of Loki. Strange maybe even hints about this a bit in NWH where he's talking about the alternate timeline villains coming through and saying "this shouldn't even be possible".

No, please no. The X-Men movie universe has to stay a separate universe. The X-Men universe has its own timeline of events, and mutants with psionic powers have existed there for millenia (or potentially since humans became human). People in the X-Men universe _know_ that mutants exist! The whole point of the X-Men universe is that _every_ human on Earth has X-genes: everyone is a potential "mutant", but the genes are dormant in the majority of the population. And the X-genes can be transfered/activated (see Deadpool's origin story). No alien Kree crystals bullsh*t. If the MCU suddenly claimed the X-Men and millions of mutants have always existed in the same reality as the Avengers, that would create such a chaos. Take Sentinels, those mutant-hunting robots are a big part of the X-Men universe lore, but I'm sure people in the MCU would have noticed had they existed! /sarcasm Conversely, in the X-Men movie universe there was never a Thanos snap, or Thor visiting Earth, or an alien invasion. Not every bloody Marvel franchise has to be crammed into the same universe!

My favorite theory that I've read is that the House of M arc from the comics has already occurred in a past timeline. That means the MCU that we have been experiencing has been this alternate reality without mutants where Wanda attempted to live in a mutant-free reality this entire time. Yet as a Nexus being, her path to becoming the Scarlet Witch is inevitable. This would be the biggest retcon and a massive plot twist that would still somehow be delighted by fans. Certainly a few mutants like a Professor X and others could have slipped through the cracks or the Illuminati can make Strange aware about the Scarlet Witch situation, hence whh she crashes onto the party later on in the trailer. Also for Deadpool, I think there is a good chance. It's just that I can see the character literally walking in randomly post-credits from the Fox Universe alongside Cable after Deadpool gets the time travel device fixed in his own post-credit scene.

I feel like only a handful of mutants will have existed in the main MCU already. Like in the history of humanity maybe only 100 ever happened. But something will happen to make it become more common. Everyone says there will be a reverse no more mutants but in the comics Wanda reduced them not wipe them out. So this would be the true reverse.

My theory for this is that because the infinity stones have been shown to give people powers, the snaps (excluding Tony's final one which was more central) showered the Earth in radiation that forced out a mutant gene. There WERE a small number of mutants; Xavier, Eric, Logan, etc. But the infinity stones crank the number up

I believe we're in a POST House of M universe where Scarlett Witch has already said, "No more mutants". This would explain where all the X-Men have been and maybe what Professor X means when he says, " We'll tell him the truth". Strange has to try and correct it. There's a part in the trailer where Dr. Strange is all blocky just like Scarlett Witch is in the House of M comic. So maybe in this movie she trys, "No more hero's." in the scene when she tells Strange if he breaks the rules he's a hero and when she does she's the villain.

What would be really cool in my opinion is if we get a black panther variant who is part of the illuminati , obviously played by a new actor (RIP Chadwick Boseman) and somehow he is stuck in the MCU reality and become the new king of Wakanda and Black panther. Maybe MCU BP gets transported to a new dimension too instead of just killing him off.

Unfortunately that sounds clunky as fuck. Unless marvel reverses course and gets permission from boseman's family to CGI his likeness, they can only either mention that happening to our tchalla, or they show it but he never takes the mask off, so we only have a half assed send off. I'm more in the "show don't tell" camp but even I wouldn't want them to take boseman's look, even if they're given permission to do so. It feels cheap and soulless.

We've already discussed most of the other characters and potential appearances so I'll throw out this: what is America Chávez role in this film? Chavez Of course has mutliverse traversal as a power, along side super strength and speed (but the movie doesn't seem to be going that superpowered direction with Strange protecting her. She does have herer star portals though). So could it be maybe he does remember some of the events of No Way Home, and wants to protect another new young hero Chavez from suffering a similar fate? Chavez will obviously be our conduit to the multiverse, as MCU strange doesn't have the direct ability to explore the multiverse yet as far as we know. So what is her arc? With her classic comic powers it is said that she could genuinely hurt captain marvel. So she's a powerhouse, potentially very useful in a fight against Wanda. Here's my guess: an evil Wanda from the multiverse is going around destroying realities, influenced by her time in Westview where instead of learning to process her grief, she forcibly continues it, potentially expanding her hex to encompass her entire earth, maybe entire universe. But she wants more, so she breaks open the mutliverse, finds and destroys the interdimensional land America Chavez is from and destroys it, forcing her to go to MCU doc strange for help, forcing HIM to go to MCU Wanda herself. This then makes Wanda come to terms with her potential to mess with the multiverse using the darkhold in an attempt to bring back Billy and tommy (Wiccan and Speed). And thusly, maybe they have to team up with legendary heroes from the multiverse to take down Wanda, going so far as working with evil versions of themselves like Strange Supreme, who only teams up because of what he did destroying his own universe. How zombie strange is involved or defender strange, no idea. But that's just a theory.... 😉

I don't really see how Professor X could have been hiding all the mutants when we've had a movie (possibly multiple, if you factor in the technology required for Cerebro) set before he would have been able to do that. Would we just ignore that The First Avenger never mentioned them? Does it have to specify that there were so few of them that no one knew? How does Cerebro's telepathy-wipe affect things like SHIELD records or even someone like Arnim Zola? Depending on the timeline, would Peter Quill not be aware of mutants since he wouldn't have been on Earth for the brain-wipe? That's not to mention that people seem to be, for some reason, assuming that the Illuminati and/or Professor X are in the MCUniverse. It appears to almost certainly (100% certainly if leaks are true) be a form of multiversal Illuminati, which fits with them keeping America Chavez locked up, given her powers. If that's true, I think it's likely that Defender Strange had a seat on that Illuminati and the shot of him being thrown through America's portal is a part of her escape. She may (accidentally) dump him in the zombie universe, leading to his infection and later reappearance. It could also mean the line about "telling Strange the truth" might be telling him that it wasn't just his personal fuckery that has messed with the multiverse. Because surely a multiversal Illuminati would be aware of the TVA and Kang, and therefore maybe even Sylvie and Loki? As an aside, it could be cool if the possible Tom Cruise Superior Iron Man uses the Pym-Ultron fusion storyline from the comics. That Stark could be the Superior version as a result of being half Ultron, also explaining the use of Ultron drones rather than Iron Man-looking Iron Legion.

That scene was misdirection based on having incomplete information. We had not yet been introduced to the concept of Variants, so we were meant to assume that the calls for help came from the same variants of Billy and Tommy that we had been introduced to in the show. But now, given everything we know about the multiverse and what has been hinted at in the new trailer, we can very safely assume that what she really heard in that scene were the voices of variants from another timeline, in some sort of trouble, calling out for their mother: a variant of Wanda that still lived in Westview and never took down the Hex. We even see that timeline's Wanda in the trailer, first in the middle of the Westview house standing over our timeline's Wanda, and then fighting the Illuminati in their headquarters still wearing the same sweats and hoodie outfit she had worn in the previous scene. Maybe the Illuminati captured her kids and were able to keep them alive outside the Hex by putting them in those glass prison cells we see in the trailer. Can't wait to find out!

Wandavision- Wanda creates a reality where her and Vision can live out there life together, that doesnt last long does it? (continued in Multiverse ofMadness) What If?- Dr. Strange cannot save Christine no matter how hard he tries, a love that cannot be. Spiderman NWH: Sacrifices his relationship with MJ to save the Multiverse, thus losing the love of his life. And of course he who remains on Loki created the scared timeline because it is the only one in which he and Ravonna can be together if only for a small amount of time. While Kang will set out to never fall in love in the first place. All starts with Captain America's choice to stay with Peggy Carter, at the end of Endgame. Marvel movies and shows will be heartbreaking.

I think Tobey Maguire and Bruce cambell will both have cameos. But it will be the cameoest of cameos. Like a one line joke. Tobey might not even play peter. Just like a reference. They will just show up because its a Rami movie and the plot involves dimension hopping. I think Deadpool will too just because the character makes sense to do that even though the actor has less of a connection with the director. And I think you have to actively stop Ryan Renolds from being in your movie or using another movies props these days or he will just do it. I think the illuminati and/or whatever version of ironman shows up will not be a huge factor outside this movie. If it is Tom cruise or whoever, he is not going to be defacto Ironman going forward. I just see people freaking out about stuff like that and Black panther. But I think they will be dealt with inside the runtime of this movie, in such a free for all movie like this, it doesn't necessarily signal a serious "recasting" to me. I'd love it but I don't think P. Stew is signing up to be classic ass Xavier running the school and a prominent character in a whole new series of X-men movies and MCU crossover movies for the next 10 years. Hes getting up there. I think he will be "resolved" in one way or another in this movie or near the start of the first full MCU X-men movie just to set the ball rolling. He will take his big MCU payday and ride his wheelchair off the set and into the sunset and I don't blame him. Wandas going to be the cliche "other hero on a collision course" that has to be overcome before the real evil badguy has to be punched in tandem. She will probably be motived by her kids or some such because women have no other motivation in movies apparently. Something she has to do for their sake will be something that another force, like Strange or the illuminati are opposed to for some kind of vague notion of universal stability. But it could just simply be a "evil" variant of her complicating things, like What if strange seems to have been teased in these trailers. I also agree with the idea that these are not MCU ultron sentries, the design is obviously different from the ones in age of ultron. That obviously has a meaning in terms of being from a different creator. But there are more robot armies in marvel than ultrons drones, even ones strange has delt with in the comics. But being a huge X-men fan, I want to float the outside chance that they are related to the mutant hunting sentinels, somehow. They are not huge obviously but maybe prototypes or something. I honestly think its more likely just to signify superior ironman or Pyms design aesthitic and they are still related to Ultron, but I want more X-men connections. However mutants are introduced to this universe, at some point they will be going against mutant hunting robots for the nostalgia, so it has to be set up somehow. It could be both, maybe the MCU will remix the backstory so that cross dimensional Ultron AI and mechanics are reverse engineered into full on sentinels later by some unscrupulous corp like Trask in the main universe. Speaking of what I want. I don't think its the most likely prediction, but with defender strange making an appearance, I would love another, more substantial cameo from Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Just peak his head through a portal or something at least. Anything.

i don't think the MCU/MCM(Marvel Cinematic Multiverse) will ever completely end, no matter what, they will probably just have a universe ending thing happen and then switch to a different universe and make it the mainline one so they can get younger characters. I think an MCM would work best if they put a popular character who you can imagine jumping universes at the front (i.e. Deadpool, Spider-Man, Loki, Etc)

My own theory for Mutants is that they have always been there, but in very small number..Magneto, Professor X, one or two others (including Logan, who during the time of the MCU is part of weapon X). Also, there's the problem that the X-Men are defined by anti-mutant prejudice, but other MCU character who are mutants, or might be regarded by the public as mutants, do not experience anti-mutant prejudice. So probably Dr Strange will discover the X-Men in an alternate universe, and that is how they are introduced to the MCU. I have a further theory that other, edgier characters will also be in that universe, i.e. Blade and Deadpool.

2:55 And now she's the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth-616 too. Unsurprisingly, the recent Death of Doctor Strange event in the comics ended with Stephen Strange dying and being replaced. At least the story itself was better than expected, with a little murder mystery and a time duplicate of Strange straight out of 1960's Ditko-drawn comics and it basically sets up the return of the character.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did a cameo for J.J.J. From Tobey’s Spiderman movies & have him run into Doctor Strange & that’ll be the reason why he name dropped him so long ago in that movie.
