The first Thor: Love & Thunder teaser trailer picks up after Endgame with Thor adventuring around the galaxy with the Guardians Of The Galaxy. But as we get into in this trailer a bunch of changes have taken place. Including Thor's new eye, Gorr the God Butcher killing off a bunch of gods, a slew of new outfits for everyone, Jane Foster returning with Mjolnir as the Might Thor and a bunch more. Small correction at 4:14 They are gods. The Godburcher arc in the comics actually went a long way to distinguish the difference between Gods and aliens/extaterrestial beings. Not every Olympian/Asgardian is a God, but Thor/Odin/Ares/Zeus ect. very much are. Godhood is separate from race. Interesting tidbit, Storm from the X-Men is both a mutant and recently ascended to Godhood. She's also one of the few people worthy of Mjolnir.

I think the short turn around between the movie and the trailer more to do with moon Knight. Imagine the final episode has Gorr killing all the Egyptian gods, and then the full marketing kicks up from there. Also can't be a coincidence how god-heavy moon Knight is right before a god killer. And also would explain why people haven't gotten moon Knight 5 and 6 screeners, and it will be the big connection to the MCU after being mostly removed so far

It is 1000% because of Moon Knight and not Multiverse of madness. I dont know how directly it will tie in though. The Ennead are protected from Gorr, but their fear of mortals wrecking them is why they are all the deadbeat dads of the godlike beings. It more gives context to Gorr. If you jump straight into Gorr with Asgard being our only frame of reference, his intense murderous rage doesnt make a ton of sense because the Asgardians are the most active and benelevont of the gods. That said, we also get Zeus, who is very much in the lazy sack of garbage camp.

I think the trailer may only be showing the first 10-20 minutes of the movie since it shows the montage of Thor working out, his departure from the guardians and then his adventures with pirates. Theory: I wouldn’t be surprised if throughout the entire movie, Thor and Gorr don’t meet until the end. For the whole movie Gorr is laying waste to god.the beginning I think there could be a flashback of Gorr, and it is revealed he is the one who killed nowhere the celestial, setting up his power. Next I think Zeus will die almost immediately from Gorr. Fights Panther god somewhere in there, and then the end him and Thor finally meet. The whole movie it’s just Thor a few steps behind Gorr, seeing all the carnage he leaves behind.

My theory (although i’m not 100% on it) is that they’ll use the three Thors part of the Godbutcher storyline. But instead of Thors from past, present, and future, it’ll be Odinson, Jane Foster, and Beta Ray Bill (who Odinson will give Stormbreaker to after inheriting the Odinforce and becoming a higher class of god.)

And then I watch James's breakdown of the trailer, and then I go back and watch the trailer again, and I realize everything I missed in the trailer had a big red circle around it and an arrow pointing to it. 11:02 in the bottom left corner there is something with very large teeth eating someone, and it looks like a symbiote. Infact if you rewatch the whole part, there are several symbiote looking creatures, as the hammer flies over thors head the people are fighting some kind of tentacle beast to his left, then in the same scene with the big tooth thing eating someone on the bottom left over on the right several asgardians are fighting another very bulky humanoid that looks very venom-esque

At the climax of the 2012 Secret Wars series, Star Lord and the other half dozen or so heroes who survived the end of the multiverse with their memories in tact make their last stand against God Emperor Doom (who was exactly what he sounds like - Dr. Doom, having assumed the position of God, was now ruler of the sole remaining planet in any universe.) So Star Lord, who had been the only Guardian to make it out of the old universe alive, now survived kamikaziing his spaceship into Yggdrasil, the world tree (where Doom ruled from), only to be confronted by... I want to say, Proxima Midnight? A full decade later, the details are a little fuzzy; regardless, whoever it was was clearly way out of Quill's weight class. Not a bad way to go out, all things considered... or so you thought, until Star Lord spits out his toothpick and jams it into Yggdrassil (the world *tree,* remember?) and-ta-dah!-Groot, back and bigger than ever (and also maybe a little on fire, but beggars can't be choosers). And this is neither here nor there, but: Secret Wars's artist? Esad Ribic - the same one mentioned in this video, who co-created Gorr and whose panel was lifted directly for that one shot (plus or minus a Korg)!

I think he's there so that Thor has someone to talk to in that moment to explain what we are looking at. In the comic it's just thought captions of Thor remembering the dead god before him had won some combat tournament for 5000 years straight and he couldn't fathom how it was dead

About Thors various costumes in the trailer there is an Easter egg I haven’t really seen any breakdown video mention. I think the fur outfit might be a reference to Thor’s appearance in the 1988 TV movie “The Incredible Hulk Returns” Which prominently featured huge furry bits on the shoulders of the costume. And it’s plausible because there have been other references to the Incredible Hulk TV show in the MCU before, including Hulks origin as depicted in flashback during his MCU solo movie. Also the black blindfolded mask costume for Daredevil. Additionally if they do introduce him in this movie in say a post-credits scene there is only one person to play Hercules in the MCU. John Cena. Definitely has the physique to play him. Plus he definitely has the acting chops to do some awesome quippy banter with Thor.

I'm chalking up the reforging of Mjolnir to Hephaestus. Who coincidentally has to wear enchanted leg braces because his legs are busted up. Similar to Forest Gump, which clearly looks like it's being referenced in the beginning part of the trailer with Thor running.

For some reason, I think Sif will be Valkyrie's Queen. It's a character that has been established already so wouldn't waste time setting her up and narratively there isn't much reason for her to return, except maybe to help Valkyrie with New Asgard. But then again I do like the fan theories of Captain Marvel and Valkyrie being a couple, so we'll see.

My current theory is that the this will tie into multiverse stuffs. The first like 1/3 of the movie is dedicated to Thor and the ravagers, The second is more focused on the god butcher, but during that big fight where theyre shooting lasers and lightning at eachother the walls of the multiverse breakdown due to Dr Strange (either NWH or Multiverse o Madness) and that causes Jane foster who is an alternate thor to be pulled through who then by simply being there reforms the hammer. The last third of the movie is focused on chasing down the god butcher and exploring the area at the end of time where Slvyie and loki were for that period of time before meeting Kang who doth not have his name yet. the scene where thor and korg stand next to a nice bit of open space is in that like zone (its the one with the big purple gas space dog thing) and the person standing next to them will be either a loki variant or the new main loki and its when we get some big reveal thatll have bigger impacts in the long run. and Gore goes down in that zone and gets trapped until symbiotes are fully in and he can do that. My post credits prediction is whatever signal Shag Chis cool bracelet rings were sending out will be picked up by the new multiverse god squad group (Loki, Thor, Korg, Slyvie, and maybe Owen Wilson) and thatll lead start a build to the next big bad of the MCU (maybe a kang, maybe a Dr Doom, maybe even big ol dumb titan named galactus who just wants to eat)

The necrosword is already canonically in the MCU - it is Hela's headwear. In the What If? show, the collector specifically refers to it as the Necrosword when he uses it. Gor is going to show up at the battle of Asgard from the end of the last movie and take it from Hela
