Many might not understand, but this video here COMPLETELY shows the Ranger school side of Nick. The mapping and planning, the drop bag prep, the thought process behind his plan and everything going into the plan (opord/frago). The overprep of bags coming into it. I promise you he is vibing right now. Lol. If you know you know.

Almost all ultra runners I know do this... prepping is part of the race! Especially for longer distances, analyzing the terrain with the .gpx of a race on software like CalTopo is critical. You need to be ready if stuff breaks, need new shoes, more/less food, anti chaffing, etc.

Why would many not understand that?

I am going to guess that it takes just as long to film, produce & edit the video as it takes for Nick to have his 3 bowel movements happen. Great Job to the team for the tens of thousands of hours it takes to get it done boys- May Nick his family and you all continue the great journey and the time of your life.

I love the logistics and all the moving pieces of doing these kind of big events. I love the physical work, too, but it is so fun to do recon, draft plans, organize and pack (drop bags are the most fun, IMO). Fun video to watch.

I went TDY a lot, and I have to say the best layovers were at Austin! I was bummed I didn't have time to explore the city when visiting Hood. By the way the airport was, I'm sure the city is just as cool. Watching this journey has been pretty awesome, given many ultrarunners don't have a full work-up/follow-along video series. It is appreciated for the insight and allowing us into your highs and lows, and what you have done to prepare. Good luck!

first race...you can't worry too much. he's obviously prepared enough to survive. it's all gravy. impossible to fail.
@loveobd6283 жыл бұрын
@@shangrila73eldorado I would it say this way: He is so good prepared as He could. What makes me a little nervous Was his breathing after the 8miles run on that easy pace. The race is 100miles.... . I think He can do it in about 25 hours or so because of his good logistics and all that stuff. He has a good stamina and Form but still, this race is a complete other World compared with a Marathon on flat ground. Like i write above, i am curious about the race and we will see how it Ends.

This will be fun to watch, if you pull this off, wow!!! Go out super duper, slow , like a tutrlle, because I really do believe it will just come down to survival, so walk a ton in the beginning, it's better to walk and finish running then the other way around, you can do it!!!
