Until you get to Unfair Game and some of their recent more complicated material, this is by far my favorite solo section :) . The band thought enough of Shake That to put it on their BEST OF album :) .

Shake That was the first Band-Maid song I heard. I had no idea who they were and assumed it was a male band with a female vocalist. I was tripping when I discovered it was an all female group. That was over eight years ago, and what an amazing trip it's been. They are amazing live!

This is why I was so excited for you to hear the last 2 songs on this album. 🤣 Just some serious, fun hard rock badassery! I love that you immediately played Real Existence just to make sure. I love Real Existence too, it waz one of the 3 sings I found that first fateful night finding Band Maid. But yeah, Shake That rates high for me and I too put it above Real Existence. Thanks K-Ross! When I thought of Shake That! I always thought it was a good wee fun tune that I always enjoyed but a bit of a simplistic, dare I say, twee chorus.... I always forget how bloody heavy the music behind the lighter vocals is... and as for the bridge/last 3rd, you’re absolutely right ... always forget that happens. 1. Arcadia Girl 2. Freezer 3. Ao this is the hardest thing, album version id put Shake That over Real Existence, but live version it wouldnt even be close Real Existence all the way. Thats the wonderful problem with Band-Maid.

Shake That is right in my top songs by Band-Maid, heck it's better than 98% of what I listened to before I discovered them. That said my top B-M songs are a group of 30 or 40 and can change whenever I happen to listen to one I haven't in a while. So I don't worry about lists and just enjoy their music. Watching you do your list is list-fun enough.

I didn’t really have strong opinions going in, but like many Band Maid songs I don’t listen to enough, I should listen to it more. It’s not FREEZER, but it edges out Don’t apply the break (MISA is a cheat code). It remains consistently better throughout over songs like Real existence which has really high highs, but I think some of the verse sections are weaker. Since we’re at the end of an album I’ll put up the whole list. 1. FREEZER 2. Shake That 3. Don’t Apply the Brake 4. Real Existence 5. Thrill 6. Don’t let me Down 7. Arcadia Girl 8.
