Kanami not only plays lead guitar, she writes the music. Akane, the drummer, and MISA the bassist, attended Tokyo School of Music together, so there's nothing they can't play. However, sometimes Kanami will throw Akane a a real head scratcher when programming the drums. And Akane will tell her, "This drum part cannot be played by a human being". But she always finds a way to make it work. The same thing would happen to Ring with John in The Beatles. John would say, "Play something like that, Ring". And Ringo would say, "But John, that's two drummers!" But John would say, "Oh come on, you can make it work".

I saw them in Chicago 2022. I am an old rocker(64) been to probably 40_50 concerts in my life,all hard rock,heavy metal and this band kicked my a$$!

I have been to two live Band-Maid concerts. They are such a GREAT live band that you could almost not tell the difference from their live songs and recorded ones. They are that good. The other thing about Band-Maid is that they have so much fun on stage playing their instruments before a live audience. The love between the band and their audience is not only mutual but is incredibly enthusiastic. We Maidiacs LOVE the Maids.

Lead guitarist Kanami practices her guitar for 4 hours every day. She also spends another 4 hours composing music. Not to mention that she learned to play the piano when she was 3 and switched to guitar when she was 14.

Great reaction and all of the members have being playing their instruments since high school except for the second guitarist/vocalist, Miku, when she founded the band in 2013 she didn't know how to play an musical instrument.
