Is there a Linux distro with a desktop environment that will work on it and if so which one?

@Overonator I have no idea which version of Linux would work on this thing. Most distros of Linux require at least 2 GB of RAM. The oldest computer I installed Linux was on a Nvidia Atom Ion from 2009. It ran very slow, but I am using it as a server.

@ I would do it if I was going to use this laptop, but it will more than likely be put in storage. I have a more modern laptop that I use.

@@Overonator This woman at my work asked if I could make her Dell laptop with a Intel Core2duo with 4 GB of ram on it work. I installed Linux Mint on it, and she was happy with it.
