1900 A.E & H. Robinson HR, Size V -Stationary Engine- First Start

After a restoration which has taken just over a year, this is the first start or my 3/4HP Robinson engine.
The engine originally drove a well pump for a house in East Sussex and was replaced in the early 1920's by an imported American engine. With the known history and the general condition of the engine when purchased, it is likely that this was the first run in a century.
There is a certain amount of "tinkering" to be done now, particularly at the carburettor, but a great result on the first run.
These engines are somewhat unusual with the "oblique" cylinder, but were designed as a compact power unit. Most Robinson engines had hot tube ignition and ran on town gas- it is almost certain this engine was built that way and later converted to petrol fuel with magneto ignition- the crank guard magneto mount is an original factory part.
