This bike set-up is awesome 👏. I can’t believe the relative low weight! Well done on the build.

Sick build mate! Just ordered my ‘23 Comp. They are heavily discounted atm & here in the UK there is a tax break for “green transport” I’m only paying £2.1k!!! And the ‘23 spec has full GX & a RS SDlux coil! I’m 5’10 but went for s3, went undersized to make it a bit more trail bikey.

Crazy awesome setup. Ive been seriously considering doing this, but problem is Im a taller rider and prefer 175mm cranks. That BB drop might make this a null and void dream for me.
@mtbmike9866
@mtbmike9866 3 жыл бұрын
175 cranks will be a problem for sure!!! 170 cranks and perhaps get a 35mm rear width wheel will help give the tire a couple extra mm of height as well. Upping the fork will help too but 170 cranks are the ticket.

Awesome bike. Manitou Dorado Pro fork for me though (in my dreams). Hope you have many years of fun with it.

What happens if using the dual crown fork with 200mm travel and cascade linkage with 170mm travel is the frame can handle it? I have Sworks enduro but I'm still using 170mm fox 38 and stock float x2 vvc setup 😅

How did you run the straight Steerer with the tapered head tube? Different race cups I'm guessing?

Can taking off the spacers on the rear shock work with 29” wheels too to give it longer shock stroke from 60mm to 65mm
@mtbmike9866
@mtbmike9866 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, did this for over a year on full 29er. However make sure you have 180-185mm clearance between tire and saddle. If you are on an S1 and lower your saddle all the way down and back it could touch the tire

@@2025.yamaha.R1 just grab a ruler and measure. Every saddle and dropper and how you position your saddle can vary. As long as you have at least 190mm you are good.

Funny thing is on one of the local flow trails, I’m a bit faster on this bike than a shorter travel trail bike. But this bike sees 12-20 park days a year and lots of gnarly local trails

I did this on my enduro with 180mm dual crown and my head tube cracked. How often do you ride this bike? Have you had any similar issues?
@mtbmike9866
@mtbmike9866 2 жыл бұрын
I’ve notice Head tubes crack mostly on 21 Enduros running regular forks. Mine is an earlier model and was solid after 12+ bike park days on this setup and about 9-10 months of use before eventually selling the bike

It fits, I know someone running a Fox 40 at 203mm. 62.5deg HT so not great for most trails. Good for park riding mostly. Stick with a full 29er setup though. Mullet really hurts the climbing

How did you fit your boxxer steerer tube since it's not tapered
@mtbmike9866
@mtbmike9866 2 жыл бұрын
2 options. Get a bottom headset for around $30-40 or get a crown race designed for a tapered headtube ($15). I chose to get the crown race so I can quickly swap between forks as needed.

How can you mode a boxxer to havr 180 mm and can i run my enduro 27,5 front and rear with out the triangle mod thing and how much travel does it have with the 205x65mm when the original is 165mm
@mtbmike9866
@mtbmike9866 2 жыл бұрын
A 180/190/200mm air spring for the Boxxer is $43. If you run full 27.5, run the Boxxer at 200mm. The rear shock is 170mm stock. Your closer to 182-185 in the back
