That is nearly the same setup I have except my edge tamers match the Kubota orange color and I had couple of skids welded to my back blade to keep it from digging into the driveway.

This might be a dumb question, but why use the edge tamers on the bucket if you are going to use the rear blade. Blade looked like it was scraping a lot of gravel.

I was still figuring everything out between the edge tamers and the rear blade in this video. The rear blade is nice to use once the driveway freezes up and for tighter spots. As the winter progressed I found the edge tamers to be pretty helpful in reducing the amount of gravel that was scraped up!

He should spin the blade around and drag it backwards. Works well for me.

Just tried them out on my new Kioti NS 6010, not bad and a far lot cheaper than a snow pusher or plow only complaint is that I can't back drag with them.

I use a rear blade in conjunction with the edge tamers
@TheRonKlimo
@TheRonKlimo Жыл бұрын
Now you just need some sort of "edge tamers" on the rear blade to help prevent digging up the stones from the rear. You can also take a piece of 2" pipe, cut a groove in it lengthwise and fit it over the edge of the rear blade.
@DudeRanchDIY

I tried the pipe, when it was cold it just shattered.

@@DudeRanchDIY Well don't use PVC....lol...I used schedule 40 galvanized pipe and it lasted for years.

@@TheRonKlimo that makes sense 😂 everyone I saw said to use pvc. No snow this year to plow so didn’t have to worry about it.

Great stuff! Now you just need to turn that bucket into a snow pusher.
@DudeRanchDIY
@DudeRanchDIY 2 жыл бұрын
That would be nice! We don't really get enough snow here to justify a pusher!

My next purchase will be a rear blade. I bought the BH77 backhoe and box blade with my tractor but The box blade has not been as useful as thought it would be.

I have the same situation with my driveway. Between my Kubota LX2610 and Kawasaki mule with plow I manage but it is a pain. I just ordered 2 of the edge tamers. I think they will help .My driveway is 300 feet long , hilly and curvy so I usually spend 2-3 hours on it. My neighbor has the same length driveway but it is blacktop. I clear his in about a half hour.

Yeah the gravel can be a pain, the edge tamers definitely helped. Going to try a horse stall mat on my rear blade this year as well.

Any plans on buying and installing an outdoor wood boiler? Love those things and seems like good content. If not, maybe you know of someone that is and could film it! Enjoy your content, keep up the good work!

Hey man, for some reason your video came up on my feed. What state are ya in? Snow work is long hours but good money during winter slow downs, been there done that. I had a 4ft drift in my driveway from last weekend because it runs along the building and drifted, we got like 12ish inches which is a lot for us. I wish ya the best in your endeavors, that tractor is nice... making a go of the KZbin thing- good on you. Hope the views send some extra cash your way, idk if they do or not to be honest. Either way best of luck and cheers from NJ

Hey there Nick, thanks for watching! I’m in southwestern CT. The plowing can be a grind but I enjoy it, started with an atv when I was 12! Yeah the KZbin thing is just fun for me, I figure I’m doing the stuff anyway, might as well throw a camera on a tripod and document it! Plus I get lots of great feedback and advice from the viewers! Hope you enjoy the content and continue watching!

@@DudeRanchDIY right on, I'm in NJ... was thinking the woods looked northeast (does that make sense? LOL) so figured I would ask. I would have guessed NY state or Vermont though. Shoot, got a sub from me. I watched some of the other videos, that Kubota is sweet... opening up that lake would be great. I saw when you got the ripper attachment. What a time saver. I honestly would have used chemical or fire, both worse options so good on you. Happy Friday morning brotha

What part of Jersey? Absolutely makes sense, being a tree guy I always use the trees as hints to location haha. Yeah the tractor has proved to be invaluable, the grapple works really well for a variety of tasks! That lake was at the old property I was living at, I’ve since bought my own property and working on that! I appreciate you subscribing!

Far better with a front snow blade. I tried the edge tamers ... not a fan. Leave too much snow, and a bucket just isn't great for plowing to begin with. Glad I invested in a pusher. My edge tamers have become paper weights

In my honest opinion your rear 3 pt link is backwards, pull it all the way in tilting the blade upward as you are pulling... rather than digging in its more floating, just my 2 cents of stupidity 😉
