It's crazy to think of how Browning designed a gun that could stand the test of time. Even today it's still relevant. Great video.

I've have my dad's 1911, he won the top marksman in 1962 on the Army pistol team. He passed away January 24,2021 from corona . He was 90 and was a Korea and Vietnam Veteran. I researched the pistol and he ordered it special for pistol competition in may of 1956. I learned to shoot with it when I was fourteen. I also was allowed to carry it on the Air Force in the mid seventies. Chef Ken

Don't go cheap when buying a 1911. I made that mistake and got a cheaper one (don't want to say the brand, but it was on the lower end price wise) and it jammed all the time, had a shaky slide to receiver fit and had an all around cheap feel to it. I later handled a Colt 1911 and felt a world of difference. I have held a Les Baer but have not shot one, but the fit and finish looks every bit worth the extra money!! I want a Baer 1911 one day.

The best I've owned, believe it or not, was an Argentine Army surplus. Bad bore, rattled like a tin can with rocks (just like the Navy pistols), but shot and ran like a dream. I just got around to this one, love the part about the guns that got away. This is a great vid. I just got done casting and reloading about 500 45 acps for my 1911. Thanks Hickok, now I'm gonna think about the guns that got away from me.

JMB is still getting royalties in heaven for every 1911 produced.

Outstanding video on the classic but oh so more than functional 1911 .45 ACP. I am a police officer and began my so far decade long career carrying a Glock 21. I then went to carrying a Springfield 1911, then Kimber Stainless II 1911 and now carry my stainless Colt Goverment Model Series 80 1911. Love those weapons. Great video sir. I was quick to subscribe.
