In this episode it is dedicated to the piston and conrod of the Q Type.
The cleaning of both these took significantly longer than expected I thought they would when it come down to it. The piston particularly was really bad!
The ring grooves in the piston proved a headache to clean as the carbon was particularly thick and baked hard in the slots, making it hard work!
I was amazed though at how well actually everything cleaned up and how well the technique of fitting the rings worked! It’ll be a technique I’ll be using in the future for a stress free experience!
The cylinder head was also fitted with the help of my brother in law and the Wife too. The whole lot must weigh in around somewhere in the region of 100ish kg and been oddly shaped it is difficult to manoeuvre! I must apologise that I didn’t get it all on film. My phone decided it was “full” at the critical point so decided to stop filing 🙄
I hope you enjoyed this one. If you did, please don’t forget to give it a like, comment and don’t forget overall to subscribe to be notified of the upcoming content that is posted over the next few weeks!
