1920 Lister Q Type Restoration Part 8 - Vaporiser Rebuild

In this episode it is all about the rebuild of the style 2 vaporiser for the Q Type.
Firstly, I must apologise that I didn’t film the cleaning of the vaporiser. I did it over a couple of days on and off between other things so I didn’t get this on film.
Firstly in the video I do a in-depth explanation of the fuel flow though it, this is when it is all in pieces so it is a little easier to see. For a expliantion of it as a whole unit, please look at the other video I have of the style 2 vaporiser on the K type.
Next weeks video will be on the mounting of the valves plugs…. The Do’s and Don’ts…

Mind boggling how complicated Lister made what is basically a heat exchanger 🤔 when you compare it to whats on a DK 😂 can you explain how and when you would use the water injection please Lee 👍

Yes it is! You have to think though that this is a good few years before the DK first came about! You wouldn’t use the water injection valve till the working is working very hard! I have never worked a engine hard enough to need it but when on paraffin they “creek” when working hard and the water that is dripped into the inlet stops this by helping lubricant the top end I believe. Unless it is balls out, it’ll be something that never gets used
