Tazio Nuvalori won the race in 1935 and in 1938 he drove for Auto Union(Germany). During the 1930s, Queen Elizabeth a young girl, was busy practicing her Nazi salutes. The British Royal Family was enamored with the Nazi party. Applying understanding of Nazi Germany years after the defeat reflects poorly on your understanding of the situation.

Just perfect - looks right, sounds right, goes right ... and all done by one man. The reason today's racing cars look like a Lego set gone wrong is that they are cobbled together like separate technologies bolted on to each other. It's like setting a team of technicians to re-design the race horse - you end up with a camel.

The badge. On the left the standard of the free municipality of Milan 11th century on the right the standard of the dukes of Milan (Visconti family) 13th century. It's not a drake, but a snake. An ancient legend said of a big snake living in the swamp around Milan (Milan comes from latin Mediolanum, the city in the middle of the Padania valley) and eating men. In the jaws of the snake you can see a men. Above the snake had the duke's crown.

@Daniel - Yes, Nuvolari actually won the race. In reality though, Von Brauchitsch in his Mercedes had a 30 second lead over him and only lost the race due to a blown rear tire on the last lap. Therefore, the exceptionally talented driver, Nuvolari, with the outdated, underpowered Alfa had some major help from......Good old lady luck in winning that race!
