Good o American Steel right there and no metric tools needed. I've always loved old John Deere tractors.

Awesome! I enjoy watching your restore & repair videos. Helps me to constantly learn more about tractor repair. I have been working on a 1971 JD 1020 for over six years ( when time & money allowed me to move forward) it’s finally being repainted and it was my late father’s tractor.

We a 1949 G on the farm and we used the small tank as a reserve run the main tank out and had that gallon and a half to get back to the farm

Those old two cylinder Deeres were made so the average farmer could fix most issues right in the field. That's why you find the odd nut, bolt, nail, ect here and there. Lifting the head out with the fan shaft and upper water pipe in place is a goober stretcher for sure! Doc

All the two cylinder Content from you I had to get my John Deere B out and hook it to my plows and corn planter for kicks and giggles

That came apart fairly easily. Glad you like the pocket screwdriver. I have a spare orange one if it gets lost or anything. Just hit me up. My wife laughs at me for how many of those I’ve acquired over the years. Lol. I have to agree the picture and sound is way better on this camera and yet the old one worked fine.

@@dirtgrainsteel Wow Glad you answered. On that head you took off, is the intake/exhaust mounted with bolts or studs? Mine has bolts, but I think it is suppose to be studs. Thanks
@dirtgrainsteel3 жыл бұрын
I try to do my best to answer it's alot to keep up with lol....my A has bolts I don't think studs were factory but I have heard of other tractors having studs

Excellent video Brandon :) also amazing how those John Deere also other old tractor makes made back then when put together also never use torque bar gauges all down by human strength I remember my elders told me back long time ago! But yes amazing built tough and lasted long time too before rebuilt job on motor and got long term hours too sure amazing!
@artillerest43rdva7 Жыл бұрын
it is those rogue nutz that get ya, it is so bad that those nuts on the rockers were chewed up. yes you should have uniform nuts and bolts on things just to make it easier on the re-assemble of the tractor.

Luckily you didn't have to take the manifold off. That's always good for twisting a couple bolts off
