The best way to start a project is with a vision. I see it in my head first. Great channel Homie. I love watching, and the fact that you never let a problem go unsolved by use of your intuition and skill. You are the real deal Bello. Peace.
@allanrichards37529 ай бұрын
I totally agree that you need a vision which is what you want. I think you then need a plan which is how you are going to turn the vision into reality. You may do a lot of the work yourself and you may sub out some work like the painting or heavy fabrication. The plan should include deciding exactly where to sub out the work because we have seen Bello's redoing a lot of shoddy workmanship where people have not been up to the job, and falling into this trap is one way of turning your dream into a nightmare.

Mike, I agree that you should get the mechanics squared away first before modifying the body one main reason is because you need to see how the vehicle sits then the sculpture can begin. Know what I'm saying Holmes? Thanks for sharing another great video, the lokochonies out here appreciate you very much!💯❤️💪👍😎🤠

Just like you said mr. Bello it makes a lot of sense to Fabricate the frame first ,and then start working with the body and everything Starts falling in to place as your working on the car 🚗 . And in all reality Sir you’re one of the best in this trade that I’ve seen in these business of fabrication ,Modifying these old vehicles and making them new again its Amazing to watch how talented you are l’ve watch many of your video’s.The Lord God in Heaven has definitely given you a great talented to Fabricator vehicles in this business ,Aman!

tHe best way to start a project is to first have or get a project . Then get it running and driving so you know what does or doesn't work. Then as you work on the project make sure to set a time goal every day to work on it. Don't take and look at the entire project break it into little projects. A win from any of the projects keeps you going. Always make sure to bag your hardware and, store it all together. If you lower it then lower it and drive it if you can. Find out if each step keeps working then onto the next project and the next .... make sure there are goals and do your best to finish each goal ! In no time you will see it build into your dreams.

With every car I ever put my hands on, the first thing I always did was make sure the brakes were in proper working order. No matter what I was intending to do with the car. I like your method of order too. Makes sense even. Now that I can no longer work on cars, watching you and trying to guess what your next move is has become something I look forward to. Thank you, Mike.

I've always done mechanics of the project first, in the event body or frame need adjustment for suspension or engine and tranny. And then I know I'm free to sculpture this body around everything thats been done. So I agree, run and drive first, then cosmetics. Thanks for all the detailed videos, I continue to learn even at my age. ( graduated 1985 )

I'm still building my first hotrod but I started with the chassis like you said and got it into a driver first. Now I can cruise around to cruise nights and show and shines and try and figure out what I want. It has changed multiple times in 2 years but it doesnt make sense to do the pretty stuff until the mechanical is 100%. It still has the original paint and patina and most people that see it say to keep it like it is and thats what I might do. Awesome project with the grill and an awesome result. Thanks for sharing. Cheers

Customize first vs make it run first: I've been chasing both at the same time on my ride for around 12 years. But out of necessity. I got it as a daily driver, so I've been needing to do "running" repairs as things crap out. But then... I'll work on customizing it any chance I get. I'm hoping to get to finish it before the next season, but we'll just have to see how the winter goes. It'll be a one of a kind 1960 ford falcon for sure!

Every classic or older car truck I got the breaks came first. My Pop's and older brother are mechanics, they told me I have to be able to stop before I can go. Your right I did all the mechanical work first then making it look cool came after. My very first build was my Pop's parts car I bought off him for $50.00 what he paid for it a 1968 4 door Toyota corona made it into a Kustom. Late 80s early 90s $1.10 A gallon of gas it was the mini truck era I wanted my little car to look older than it was modified a 1951 Buick grill and added 4 bumber guards from an older BMW on the grill to give it that 50 Buick grill look lower in the front smoked glass window's 3 prong knock offs white wall tires. Got many thumbs up everywhere I went. I would drive a brand new car that wasn't mine, nothing people wouldn't even bat an eye compared to my old car's.

I agree get the mechanicals done first any day you dont have to push a car around is a good day. First thing I tell people if your going to do a car is find money and lots of it lol 😁🇬🇸👍
@snoopu26019 ай бұрын
Yes sire nothing like the old day's in the 1980s junk yard parts could buy then next to nothing and still complain about the $3 dollar or $5.00 they charged. If a person would plan smart they could build a cool budget ride for $3.000k Or less depending on how far they want to take it. A welder and grinder and a body hammer and some metal saw blades 👍🏾

Best way to start a project car, get it running. Get all the electrical, brakes, engine, suspension, transmission and rear diff all done first. Nothing worse than having a project car you can't drive cause you did the body and paint but not the mechanics and you miss all the car shows. Wish I would have done that when I started my 65 Impala project. Lessons learned.
