“Please Be Kind” made it to #1 on the weekly “Your Hit Parade” radio survey during the month of May, and this Crosby recording was one among several that enjoyed some sales and juke box action.
From 78rpm Decca 1693 - Please Be Kind (Cahn-Chaplin) by Bob Crosby & his Orchestra, vocal by Kay Weber, recorded in NYC February 10, 1938 .

It's a sentimental musical atmosphere and Kate's voice has a super heartfelt life to it, the music and voice are a very fine match, the music is very colorful and feeling, the singer's voice is filled with music, what a great song !

I've always preferred the Norvo w/Mildred Bailey and Goodman w/Martha Tilton versions -- Bob's sounds a little clunky ... apart, of course, from Eddie Miller's urbane tenor in the opening chorus. ... Kay Weber, whose high falutin tone, I must admit, so suits a lyric like "This is all so grand, my dreams are on parade" has always struck me as an odd choice for vocalist in this great Dixieland jazz band.
