We are looking forward to the Wednesday video drop. My husband and I have been car people for years. He built a '52 Willy's, a '32 Ford Coupe like John Milner, '54 Ford Sunliner, raced a '65 Stang 2+2. We've owned a '69 Fairlane and a '48 Willy's Wagon. Our personal highlight was meeting Ed Roth in person in 1994. We have enjoyed watching Ian since Back from the Dead days. The TV was good but the videos now are platinum. Ian, you have a true treasure in Jamie. Wife, friend and partner. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy the garage time.

Ian, I had a friend with a 4 seater sand rail with big paddle tires in the back.In the front he had 15" x 3 or4 " " bald tires " with no tread I asked where he found them I'm pretty sure he said Poland imports . The beauty is they floated on the sand and didn't kick up sand because there wasn't any tread ! Hence,no sand in your face ! Thanks DD for that great information !

Ian, you sure have the knowledge of so many years of experience. It is just wonderful to watch everything that you do on your videos to the cars and it’s perfect. Your timing gives a lot of people time to see exactly how you’re doing it. In my opinion you’re an excellent teacher, the only question I have is when you get to the other side, you have to make it pretty much exactly the same do you ever before you start welding pieces make a copy on like cardboard and then you know exactly how the other pieces should be on the other side or do you do it all just by Site and feel it all works out. You are amazing to Jamie. You are so good on the camera now you get right in and focusing it’s just perfect thanks so much for having the patience and I think it’s fabulous to watch you both work together . See you on the next video, I think you’re the best show on KZbin !

The problem with lapping sheetmetal is demonstrated by putting a kink in a nail and trying to drive it. It's going to bend. Every second your vehicle is rolling on the road, it is passing and disbursing hammer crushing vibrations throughout the entire structure of the vehicle. Vibrations which act longitudinally along a sheet must have material ON CENTER and matched, or those forces will focus on that point where it kicks over to the lapped sheet, and cause stress cracks. Remember the stress crack in your "sand rail" tunnel where the hole was that you patched? If, instead of linear continuous original metal, that had been a lap joint on both sides of that hole, that tunnel would have failed LONG ago, and that whole hot mess would have been drug to the crusher shortly after the funerals, and you would have never seen those parts, let alone gotten to play with them... I'll just assume the hyperbole reinforces my point and close this little physics lesson.
