Lol, was wondering if you got the fan switched around. Radiator is next on my unstyled to come appart, not looking forward to it. Glad yours seemed to go well.

I took the radiator on my B apart like you did and it wasn’t easy. Numerous bolts and studs required heat and or welding nuts on to be used to unscrew broken fasteners. Yours looks like it is coming along nicely!

Thinking back on it, there were more troubles than I remembered. I think I had to drill out like 4 holes. That could also explain the two that went in hard. I know I tapped them to the right size, but maybe not clean enough. I dread taking them apart, but I haven't had too bad of luck after 3. Thanks for watching.

Is it common practice to run straight water and drain when it gets cold.

You can do whatever you'd like. Water transfers 2x the heat but encourages rust. Coolant is a better rusty preventer. I run coolant so I don't have to worry about it and less likely to get clogged up from rust flakes.
