Love these! The ones with Jimmy and Roz are adorable. It's funny to see old movie stars acting like real people.

It's very interesting how in the film at 4:14, the camera man moves the camera as Jimmy Stewart walks, at a close distance, something that inadvertently foretold what cinema would actually do years later.

4:22 I've long wondered what Bogie or his friend Peter Lorre sounded like cussing. That "son of a bitch!" sounds so natural and fitting for his character types, I now feel really cheated by the fucking Hayes Code. I'm not saying "Casablanca" or "Maltese Falcon" needed Tatantino dialogue, but imagine how much more powerful some scenes would be with a well-timed cuss from Bogart!

Anyone know what the movie is where the director is yelling at actress in the water about her pulling her hair back? And is that Ronald Reagan?

The actress was Academy Award winner Jane Wyman, who was Ronald Reagan's former wife and the mother of their 3 children: Maureen, Christine, and Michael Reagan. And yes, that is her husband Ronald Reagan in that clip (they were married 1940-1949). This film was TUGBOAT ANNIE SAILS AGAIN (1940). The director yelling at her was Lewis Seiler.

Majority of these had to be for private, internal studio viewing only...Hypothetically, if released to the public, it would have automatically destroyed film careers. The Hays Office would have certainly prohibited them. Today, we see the Classic Hollywood stars as real people in these vintage clips...But back in 1941, it was a very, very different America. Many of their expletives would not have gone over very well. It truly would have ruined their public image. The funnier, lighter bloopers would have been popular, however. As much as Bogart was great fun to watch onscreen, based on these clips, he must have been a real bastard offscreen. That goes for Edward G. Robinson as well (he actually came across as a bastard onscreen, too). Cagney and Stewart come across as affable fellows offscreen. Especially, Cagney. Cooper was an unpleasant surprise.
