Mine too. But is it true? I don't think I've ever actually touched a car from this era, let along banged a fist on it to test the weight and strength. Are they solid steel? Would they just run over a new car like it's a rabbit or something?
@lovefordgalaxie7 жыл бұрын
Yes. Real steel. hard as a rock. Worked on two of them, and the body is very strong. The chassis also has a X member that makes it super resilient to torsion. That's why they cut the roof off and the car is still in one piece.

If you look close at the chase scene, there had to be at least 3 cars used if this was in fact in the scene. You can see during the scene that one of the cars shown was a 47/48 Ford as the car had the round parking lights below the headlights and had the factory outside curved mirror attached to the cowl trim. Also during the scene you see a 46 Ford (rectangle parking lights on the top of the inner part of the fenders. This car had a non factory outside mirror above the side trim that was rectangle, not round. The car that hit the manure truck was this 46 car with the non factory rectangle outside mirror. Also the car that slide sideways into the truck had vent windows with a flat top like a real convertible. That same car had the top boot that was on like a real convertible would that was flat and not much higher than the top of the door. This car had to be a real convertible. The car shown in this video is also a 46 but is not a real convertible (as stated) as the top boot sits high on the car not like a real convertible would have. Also this car does not have any vent windows in the door (because of the top being chopped) where the car that hit the manure truck has the flat topped vent windows of a real 46 convertible. The car shown here had outside mirrors on both sides where the car I see clearly in the movie scenes have different mirrors and don't have a mirror on the passenger side. I would imagine that the real 46 convertible did have body damage when it hit the truck.

The slow piano theme is awesome and really fitting. Like an old heart that's beating slower after 30 years but still has so much life in it. I hope those cars still exist for at least another 30 years and that heart keeps beating.

Dan. Thank you some much for taking part in this series. I thought that the Ford was not even around anymore. I'm so pleased to see that it went to a family that appreciated it's significants in motion picture history and have taken very good care of it. I fell in love with that car the first time I saw it and though I live in England knew that it would be pretty much impossible to get my hand on one. It has touched my heart to see that it is in such good condition. If you are able to sell a small piece of the fake manure, only if you have some to spare of course. Please contact me, I will happily pay and shipping fees. Lots of love to you and your family. Many thanks again for allowing us to see it again. Kind regards.

I just stumbled on this video today and i have to say it really excited me so much i tweeted at tom wilson because i wanted him to see it. What makes this car so cool is unlike the fully restored first delorean and universal studios is that you can see,touch,sit in and feel what it was like to be a kid again. i know there are a few from the 2nd and 3rd movies but lets be honest those don't have quite the same effect as the one from the first movie that michael j fox hated driving that will give you that feeling again. So its great to see this car in all its beauty out there being driven,seen and enjoyed buy the public in a way a museum would and never will allow. Im not gonna lie either like tom wilson's back to the future song irs always been about fox and other people in the movie but never about him. Now we get to see a video about his car and roll in the movie and something that's about the roll he played and i know there has to be a little satisfaction in that and you guys gave him that small little gift, kuddo's. Key note for owner - The writers and producers of back to the future have stated more then once under no uncertain terms will there be a back to the future remake in there lifetime or after death. They feel and we all agree lighting only strikes once on a movie and can never be iconic a second time in a reboot. So rest assured we will not see this series ruined by greedy hollywood wanting to cash in by remaking this series every 20 years, well its hollywood so every 10 years and lets be honest if the first flops, they will just keep rebooting the first one every 2 years until they love it. It is hollywood after all and they have been ruining iconic movies with reboots since well......far to long! Heres a link to toms questions song and channel - kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6i8ZqJom9h6bbs - Enjoy its funny!

They used three different cars in the movie, this one is legit, it’s a 46, but for a lot of other scenes they also used a 47 and a 48 through out the first two movies. That explains the little differences you can see scene to scene. The 47 and 48 cars had a slightly different interior and were both actual convertibles not a chop top. But again this is one of the cars used in the movie

This car had the top cut off by the production. His comment about it being the only car from part 1 is wrong. The "A" 46 Ford was also sold into private hands from part 1. The frame was bent during filming, but the car was restored by the owner. That car was the Biff Tannen museum car you see in part 2.
