Great condition, possibly new platen. I've had QDLs before but none so quiet as this one. Rubber is still quite soft. Everything else is 100% functional.

Beauty! I have a 1941 Royal Aristocrat in brown and a Model A Royal Deluxe from 1937 that are pretty sweet! Glass topped keys are definitely where it’s at!!🙏🏻

Definitely 👍 glass top keys for the win! The early Royals are nice machines

I had a 1945 Royal I used for ages, weighed a ton, it was a military surplus office model. I then went to a 1950s Remington, and from there things got electronic.

I’ve had the fewest renovations of any of the old manufacturers But i always like the feel of the royals

Did you mean “Remingtons”? Most typewriters by now have been rebuilt and recycled (sometimes several times and often out of town. Most typewriters are vagabonds).
@TheSchyllerwade3 жыл бұрын
@@johntapp7232 yes! *Remingtons

Very nice machine and good clean typing too. Reminds me of "Snapper," my Olympia SM3.

It’s true lol... but honestly there are some real CLACKERS out there Set this next to an SG1 or an underwood no.5 or one of the 3-banks and you’ll understand why they called this quiet!

An old Remington Pre-17 makes a bunch of noise too-so does a Royal #10.

Hi! Where do you buy the paper? Or do you just use regular paper? (The "onion" paper I tried from Amazon wasn't real onion paper sadly)
@TheSchyllerwade3 жыл бұрын
Hey good morning! Ya i typically just use regular printer paper, i will feed 2 or 3 sheets of paper into the machine if I can. You can also (sometimes) find antique typewriter paper on craigslist or OfferUp, people having garage sales etc. OR, Home Depot also carries some different kinds of paper that might work well with these machines (off the top of my head I can’t remember what its called)

I’ve heard of vellum paper, I’ve once had 100 percent cotton fiber (rag) paper, onion skin paper (really thin stuff). Mostly these days, copy paper (how much of it recycled paper doesn’t matter) is the best stuff. I use about three sheets myself.

Some people used the hyphen and slash, but that doesn’t work all that well. Me I just write out “plus.”

Is this the last year to have glass keys or is that the 49 one?

How much are you selling?

I’m about to buy one of these for 100. It looks like it’s in great condition .. Have no idea if that’s a good price or not lol meh
@johntapp72323 жыл бұрын
It depends on the condition upon sale. Some Hundred dollar machines are as-is so you’ll either have to fix it yourself (I have many times-to me it’s just half the fun-Or you can get it reconditioned at a shop, but that may pull the price up to $200 or more, and shops are quite rare.

While its a beautiful machine.. the elite typefaces gets hard to read after awhile. I wish i knew about pica vs elite before i bought a typewriter
@TheSchyllerwade Жыл бұрын
Can’t argue with you there! tbh I just liked that you could get more words on a single page….but yes, small typeface for sure!

I'd buy one if I didn't remember what a bitch it was to use a typewriter instead of a laptop or just a pen and a notebook.
@TheSchyllerwade3 жыл бұрын
Lol alright, thank you for sharing that with everyone.

You just gotta appreciate them. They are what they are-a set of keys to stack letters, numbers, and characters Klink-a-te-Klink on a piece of paper.
