Beautiful old Packard! They were noted for making high quality cars back then. From the mid 1930's to late 1940's,many automakers used a simulated wood grain finish on their metal dashboards and window surrounds - it was considered high style during that time period....

The prism is so you can see the traffic light without leaning forward and craning your neck. It's not a reflection, it bends the light much as a lens does, only in one direction and not all directions.

Nice , had a neighbor down the street that had a 48 or 49 Packard limousine, his was a California car since new. Packard outsold Cadillac in 48&49

I’ve got the exact same car but mine is a 1947 with 19K original miles. My grandfather bought it brand new from Packard of Cleveland.
