Can't believe it took 70 years for the Rams to win another championship as the LA Rams. Better late then never I guess.

Who cares! They won it and it is over now. They had many chances in the 1970s but choked them all to the Vikings, Cowboys and Steelers.

Funny the Raiders fans were bragging that they were the ones that first to bring a championship to LA but they always fail to mention that the Rams already did that lmao 😂

Raiturds were not even the first team to bring a championship in Oakland. Rams brought not only LA’s first major championship but California’s first trophy.

A lot of people don’t consider pre Super Bowl championships as winning a championship but my Rams won three championships being in three different cities. Chicago, Los Angelis and St. Louis.

One correction. The Rams were in Cleveland when they won the 1945 NFL Title game. Perhaps you were confuse with the Cardinals. They were in Chicago before they moved to St Louis.

Funny irony. The rams leaving Cleveland paved the way for another pro franchise in Cleveland…the browns.

i've got family going back 120 years in Los Angeles, and i've been hearing stories since i was a child from great uncles of mine how when they were kids back in 1950's they would sneak into the Coliseum to watch Rams games, and how the Rams were the biggest show in town. but remember the Rams were the 1st major pro team on the West coast and 1st in Los Angeles. long before the Lakers and Dodgers.

They need to move back to St. Louis. I was born there. Take my team again and see what happens. 😡Joking. Lol. We can't keep a team. First, the Hawks moved away, then the Cardinals, now the Rams. 🙄

Interesting fact about the rams and browns. They were two of the few teams that signed black players. Owners from the redskins, eagles, bears, and cardinals refused to sign black players fearing this would Alienate fans.

Plus there were certain positions that were off limits to Black Players. MLB, QB, and it took some time before Black coaches were hired. The Fabulous 50's were no so for everyone.

It was a gentleman's agreement to bar Black players brought about to placate Redskins owner George Preson Marshall who fancied his team as the team of the south. Marshall actively promoted Washington across the south with his Redskins radio network. The other NFL owners went along with this under the rationalization that since Major League Baseball had long banned Black players, it would be ok for the NFL to do the same to attract a national following. When the Rams signed Black players in the NFL in 1946 and the Browns did the same in the AAFC the same year. The AAFC Forty Niners also signed Black players, most from military service teams stationed in the Bay area, and that provided some cover for the much more popular Major League Baseball to finally make a similar leap in 1947 with Jackie Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers. The other NFL owners slowly came around to signing Black players in the early 50s after seeing the success of the Browns, Rams, and Forty Niners so that by the end of the decade only the Redskins refused to do so. It would take the Kennedy Administration threatening to deny funding for what would become RFK stadium, that finally forced Marshall to sign Black players.

So they have a Lou Groza award to honor of the best kicker in the country, named after the guy who bricked a 23-yard chip shot in this game. M'kay.

Pretty funny to see the numbers not matched with positions (i.e. Graham's 60 Motley's 76, etc.)
@jimrasco9380

Years ago, I somehow acquired a 16mm film of this game. I sort of "charted" the game and I recall that Tank Younger was the only player on either team that "started" on both offense (right half) and defense (linebacker). One other comment -- through the Rams did not have numbers that matched their positions -- actually the Browns players perfectly matched their positions. The Browns, of course, had been original members of the short-lived All American Football Conference before being merged into the NFL in 1950. The AAFC had a very strict numbering system. 20s were centers; 30s were guards; tackles were 40s; ends were 50s; quarterbacks were 60s; fullbacks 70s and halfbacks were 80s and 90s. In 1952, the NFL required the Browns and the 49ers to change to the NFL numbering system. Many of the Browns kept the same last digit of their number. For instance, Marion Motley went from 76 to 36. Lou Groza went from 46 to 76. However, Otto Graham went from 60 to 14.
