It certainly is beautiful. Like a piece of furniture. I purchased a nice wooden Zenith turntable/radio, simply because it was in such a nice 'portable' wooden case.

I haven't seen one of these! The hifi and stereo tube stuff from Motorola throughout the 50's is just grand. Thanks for sharing!

This was a higher end tabletop player that (I'm sure) was quite expensive which may have hampered its sales and that's why they're not often seen today. It really is a well made & great sounding Hi-Fi player. I've sold this model but have another exactly like this but in a much rarer limed oak finish which I plan to restore soon. Glad you enjoyed the video!

This is the only bottom fired speaker tabletop player I've ever seen. Not to say there weren't other similar models made by other manufacturers, I just haven't seen them. Merry Christmas & stay healthy!

Beautiful cabinet, Glen. Kind of a unique design, the bottom facing speakers, sounds great.

Thanks Al. It's definitely a unique design and these just don't often show up for sale. I have to assume they were pretty pricey in 1954!

Hi Rich! Good to hear from you. This is a first of this kind to pass through my hands with a bottom fired speaker system. It's unique for sure and sounds surprisingly good w/equal volume from all angles. Have a Merry Christmas Rich!

Nice unit Glen. I like the bottom speaker too. I'm surprised so few ever did that. Looks good in that cabinet! See ya -- Atco

I must admit it looks a little strange not seeing any grill cloth on a player but performance IS enhanced being bottom fired and sound is equally dispersed to all sides. It not only looks pretty..it sounds pretty damn nice too!
@frdjr25276 жыл бұрын
Very neat looking player. Those bottom firing speakers are unique, probably a forerunner to Zenith's Circle of Sound in the 60s. The changer is unique with the overarm located opposite the tonearm. I know you used 45 adapter clips for this demo, but I presume a 45 spindle came with the unit when new. Very good sound!

Beautiful player and belated Christmas greetings. I still have a few of those "triple play" Golden 45s from my youth. Also have "Crackerjack Christmas" on a little Golden 78 up on an unusual little battery motor acoustic kiddie player on my channel.

I still enjoy listening to those oddball 45's of yesteryear. There ARE some gems out there! BTW, this player has been sold. It IS a wonderful looking AND playing phonograph. I have the more obscure limed oak version of this to be restored in the near future and it will be shown on YT as well. May the New Year be a happy, healthy, & prosperous one for you & your family!

Just picked up one of these. Exterior is in great shape but the mechanics will need some work. This one also has RCA jack in the back and what appears to be external speaker wires. Would love tips on how to restore:>)

I have one of these that I would like to sell. It is the lighter wood one. Any suggestions as to where I could sell it?
@seeburgsrock8 жыл бұрын
E-mail me at seeburgsrock@yahoo.com - send pics if possible & the price you're looking to get. The blond version is not as popular as the mahogany because it doesn't have the "pizzazz" the burl mahogany has. Glen.

Glen, I now have my FOURTH restored late 40s/ 50s record player from you! This 1954 Motorola is extremely handsome with superior sound quality, LOTS OF CRYSTAL CLEAR ROOM FILLING HIGH FIDELITY SOUND, and a marvelous all solid wood cabinet that looks new/pristine after treatment with the original HOWARD'S ORANGE OIL WOOD POLISH..{ I also found my CHRISTMAS SURPRISE ☺☺ THANKS!} Glen, I can't thank you enough for this rare phonograph that glistens. Your superb packing made it possible for this Motorola to arrive with NO damage, no "surprises." I have a machine for playing the small hole British 45s with great volume--not a hint of distortion! Large hole 45s--I will use the adapters (yellow inserts) which will allow me to play new slick(paper labels) labled hits with no slippage. You are the best! Until another "for sale" player is demonstrated on your KZbin channel, Okie Cal.☺
