Wow, this is a special treat! I've always wanted to see good footage from Pau but have only seen tiny clips before. This is the most I've ever seen of it, and with all timers like Ascari and other greats from this era and the Lancia D50 in action it's a treasure. Thanks for all your great posts!!

Best historic automotive flicks from Pau I've seen here yet. YT suggestions, keep 'em coming. My personal to-know experience of Pau street circuit is quite special. In 1986 on family vacation trip to mid- and southern France, I stayed a single day in Pau, just for entering the Pyrenees for watching a stage of the Tour de France bike race. In fact I walked 'across' the track back and forth by the time not knowing it was this circuit, thoug both a petrol head besides a bike head already by then. Then years passed, I got into simracing (again, now as grown up man), and then for various sims acquited splendid track mods for the sims, and indeed historic ones. THEN it hit me I walked the circuit decades earlier. Then just a month after simracing Pau circuit vividly I was lucky to watch the WTCC series entering Pau. This is now many years ago, but took my time looking both track and motorsports events up, and seen quite a few races, but this really knocks the park! Thanks is so a little word! Cheers.

The great Jean Behra won the race with style! He was one of the best ever F1 racers never to win a Formula 1 Championship race. He had a fake ear too!

No. Pau was a non-championship F1 race, and Ferrari decided not to participate in.
