Designed by Virgil M. Exner Sr., Vince Gardner, and Bob Bourke in 1950 at the Raymond Loewy Design Studio, just before Exner left to go to work for Chrysler. Exner defined the overall shape of the car, which began production in 1953.This body style was produced from 1953 to 1956. In 1957, Studebaker, under the design leadership of Brooks Stevens, added tailfins to this body for 1957 to 1961, for the new Golden Hawk and Silver Hawk series. Stevens then modified this same design for the Studebaker Hawk GT for 1962 to 1964.

This is an original color combination. If you plan to buy it, simply have the paint flaws detailed and keep it all original as it is now, especially if you plan to show it at classic car shows. The Studebaker Club would love to have the new owner in their enrollment.
