I learned to drive in my Dad's 57 Ford on an old curvy gravel road in Eastern Kentucky, it was black too but automatic trans. I loved that car and my Dad for letting me drive, I was 11yrs old at the time.

That was my first car in 1963. I paid $500 for it. Went into the service in '65 sold it to a friend, he wrecked it and it ended up at the fire department to practice the jaws of life. I cried for days.

My mistake it was a 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan .You Drive” (1964, episode 134) Cars do come alive in The Twilight Zone - when they have something to prove. Ollie Pope learns a lesson about concealing his crimes after he accidentally hits a paperboy with his 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan and hurries away without reporting it. Pope’s car starts acting on its own to get him to admit his guilt, becoming increasingly insistent that Pope shouldn’t hide the truth.

I like the 57 Fairlanes. Nice looking car. I'm new to this channel, just wondering if you have filmed a 1963 Galaxy hardtop or convertible. If not it would be cool if you could cruise around in one. My dad had one back in the late 60's. It was white with red interior. Unfortunatly, he wrecked it coming home from work one night in 1969 and totaled it. He was broad sided by a truck and bent the frame. Luckily he escaped with a minor cut on his forehead. I have only a few memories of it as I was only 4 years old when it happened. Thanks!

@@samspace81 Yea you can tell when your driving down the road. Follow in another car and you will see the rear end is tracking to the right of the front end.

Perhaps to some. Me, I like a quiet cruiser that sneaks up on people, not broadcasts its presence. I gave up making noise when I got older.

the 57s looked really nice but they came out with the FE block in 1958, 352, 360, 390, 410, 427, 428. I have a 1964 high nickel FE block in my 73 Ford short 4X. My Dad bought a new 58 Fairlane first year 352. He took the hubcaps off and took it to the drag strip, lol. I was 4. He later picked up a 56 T Bird, a 66 Shelby GT 350 and a 72 Pantera (351 Cleveland mid engine). We like Fords. I remember the 69 LTD with the 429 would spin when it hit second gear in drive. My favorite was probably the 1940 Ford Coupe with the big Merc motor I almost fell out of, lol. Those were the days

Great stuff. I love 40 Fords. I just filmed an incredible one in Tennessee in one of my walkthrough videos. Appreciate you watching the Samspace81 classic car channel and taking time to comment about your FE engine in the F100. Great stories about your dad, man I live for comments like that. _ SAM

I've always found the 57' Fords to be ugly & yet somehow this one manages not to be? Perhaps it's the black paint job. This is almost identical to the Skyliner destroyed in 'Thunderball' (1965) that carried Count Lieppe.
