The Estate Wagon version of this car was my dream back when I was a teenager. Believe it or not you could pick them up in the Seventies for about $150. Unfortunately I never got mine. BUT my friend's mother had one that I got to drive occasionally It was like cruising around in your living-room. We once took 12 Highschoolers to the local football field, AND we were all comfortable. I can not believe what we gave up and what we got for that sacrifice in return.

My buddy had one in the early '80s, we were just out of high school... He got it from the estate of an old man that passed, therefore the car was named Arthur. We weren't even 20 years old and didn't know what we had... 👌

In 1968 I bought a 55 Special convertible from a guy for $175. Trans slipped and oil pressure failed when warmed up, plus a number of other little nuisance items typical of 58s, but the trans and oil pressure were the big problems. Like you, didn't know what I had. New top, worked perfectly. No rust.

Of course I would! There is no reason not to, unless you are a cheap skate. I drive a 54 New Yorker HEMI wagon and a 73 GMC 3/4. No foreign cars for me, and no motorized computers for me either.

We had one. The lower dash was soft so you would not get as injured as in the 1954 buick that we had before.

The front of these Buick's remind me of the Red Skull from Captain America.

Sure but you'd never be able to leave her alone. Whether you hire a good driver or bring a buddy, someone would always have to stay with her. She'd only be safe in her own garage. Times have changed now and so have the parking spots. You'd have to take up two spots in most parking lots now. Yes you'd be parking in the back, so nobody would bash your doors, but you still couldn't let anyone watch you walk out of sight. It requires shall we say a custodian, to travel with it.

OMG! Who put 55 Special emblems on the front fenders? Typical broken speedometer. Lots of fun to fix. You have to tear most of the dashboard apart.
