Interesting Facts: The hand-built Brougham was more expensive and exclusive than the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. Only 304 were sold for 1958 for a price in excess of $13,000! Imagine, they offered a choice of 44 interior trim combos and 15 paint colors for the 304 cars being built!!
This is one of the nicest fully restored 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Broughams in existence. This has won a multitude of awards and is a consistent first place or Best in Show winner. Perhaps as important, nearly everything on this Brougham works correctly and several enhancements have been made to make it more reliable than the somewhat challenged original.
The following are some of the more important awards won by this beautiful Cadillac: AACA Junior and Senior 2013, AACA Grand National First 2015, AACA Grand National Senior 2016, Special AACA National Award winner 2016. NC Senior 2014, Old Dominion First place winner 2015, Cadillac Grand National First Place Award Winner 2019 (scoring 397 out of 400 points).
The deep and rich Copenhagen Blue metallic paint (Paint 124) is nearly perfect and is framed by gorgeous chrome and stainless steel trim. Copenhagen Blue is one of our favorite colors on the Brougham, as it really emphasizes the stunning lines of the car. The exterior is truly very close to perfect. The inspection found a small defect on the lower portion of the passenger side front fender about the size of a pencil eraser.
The interior is equally gorgeous in Medium Bayou Blue brocade cloth and Medium Blue Leather trim and door panels. The upper door panels and the dashboard top are finished in light blue leather, which was recently completed. The blue carpeting was also recently installed and looks fantastic. All of the instruments and gauges have been rebuilt and function well, including the clock and radio. Even the memory seat adjustments work, but not always perfectly (which is par for the course for Broughams). And of course, the Autronic Eye is functioning, although the owner disables it as it can prove to be an annoyance or unsafe on country roads.
The present owner bought this Brougham in 2012 and proceeded to continue to improve on a car that was partially restored by Charles Crail Automobiles in Santa Barbara, CA. Since acquiring the car, he has completely rewired and rebuilt most of the cars electronics and suspension, making it a very dependable and perfectly functioning car for touring or show. The self-leveling air suspension has been upgraded to more modern components, but this is all done behind the scenes, where it would be unnoticeable upon inspection. He also pulled the engine and transmission for detailing, resealing and rebuilding as needed.
The 365 CID V8 offers 335 hp. The triple Rochester two-barrel carburetors are installed, but only the center primary carb is used making it run far better with compete dependability. The Cadillac has no oil or transmission leaks and is mechanically ready to enjoy. The air conditioning has been converted and works well, but requires a recharge of Freon.
This Brougham is compete with most all of the accessories, including the magnetic tumblers, cigarette case, perfume bottle, make-up kit, etc. The pen and paper are missing from the abundance of items.
If you are looking for one of the finest examples of this iconic model, consider this one. These are incredibly expensive to have professionally restored, and this has been completely and painstakingly done to very high standards. We had a compete third party inspection completed. The report is available for your review and is very comprehensive. It reviews its mechanical functionality as well as its cosmetic condition.

Those really were special cars. The interior, the B pillarless design. Love the 6 shot glasses. EVERYBODY GETS A DAMN SHOT in this car. Driver gets to drink the unused shots, and then smoke all the cigarettes. Happier times, man.

Arthur, I saw one at the 1958 auto show in Baltimore in late '57. It was dark blue. The stainless steel roof with the chrome rear quarter panels just set it off. The carpet was like beautiful. The pile seemed like an inch tall. This car has air ride also as did the whole line of GM cars. It was really expensive and the air bags developed air leaks and were finally replaced by the dealers with regular springs. a friend of mine had a 58 Chevy convertible and every morning the car was almost sitting on the ground. After a short while the car lifted up to its correct height when the air pump put enough air in the system.

Started in Cadillacs aged 14 when Dad moved from Buick to Cadillac. The power, emotionally and technically of these cars is as strong today, 48 years later, as it was at the beginning. This car leaves me with nothing to say, I've run out of words. You Americans had a very particular eye for style, the interior cloth is as much art as it is upholstery. Incredible. Paul

Back then, American car manufacturers believed in themselves and their products, and also believed that they were the superior product thereof. That is from where exceptional cars like this emerged. Cadillac called itself "The Standard of the World", and not only was that a phrase, it was a belief. Any head of a country who wanted to look appropriate was seen in a Cadillac, not a Mercedes - which were looked at as taxicabs. When you stop believing in your product AND your philosophical base, you end up with the Cimarron and the Seville, re-badged economy cars.

And I did forget that they had air ride. GM had it offered in all of their cars. It was VERY expensive and didn't wear well. The air bags would leak and have to be replaced sometimes under warranty. Expensive. Finally, they were replaced with regular springs and shocks. Nice thought but wasn't perfected yet. BTW, the cost was, what I heard was about half of what the car cost.

just gorgeous. Watching the vid, I assumed the air suspension had been upgraded as I don't believe it had a manual override for all 4 corners. my '58 Fleetwood has air ride, a little different system than the brougham, and its override only works on the rear springs...and definitely not as fast as this one. I see in the description a mention of the suspension upgrade now. Brougham's are in a league of their own...really no postwar luxury car comes close to style, performance, luxury, exclusivity...not even the MkII in my opinion.

After watching this video, I'm confused. I saw an air conditioning compressor under the hood but did see any airducts in the rear deck. Anyone seeing one of these cars were blown away. I saw one at the local auto show for that year. I looked at the window sticker and almost fell off the show platform. Are you ready? $13,800. That's more than what a house costs back then, more than a Rolls Royce costs. And I heard that they lost money on each and everyone built, trying to compete with Ford's Continental. .Air ride was available on other GM's models too. A friend of mine had a Chevy Impala convertible. It would startup in the morning and the body would raise up as the air was built in.
