Once you've seen 1500 videos, it should trigger a certificate. :-)

You would probably have to own or work at a "Harley Davidson Approved " dealership and have ALL of their Expensive Specialty Tools and receive their Prestigious Service Award Plaques for attending the many Hundreds of Hours in their controlled learning environment ! LOL Keep up the good work Tatro!

This proves my old automotive L shaped ratchet dist attachment even works on some old bikes. Now I remember why I always carried a spare condenser in my tool pouch....even in my old cars.

What do you think of automatic advance Distributers? Do they work well or just more of a hassle
@TatroMachine Жыл бұрын
they suck. they retard way too much to kickstart a bike. they also don't idle very well because they don't retard evenly. stary with the manual dist or go full electronic that you can play with. tatro

Can notice the difference in the 65 build to the 58 build. Must be customer preference. Money or time wise.

No one uses the rolling paper method anymore to set the timing/circuit breaker? Hell, how many folks even know what I'm talking about?

not me. tatro

@@TatroMachine It's the way we did it 30-something-years ago when no one owned a meter or a light. You put a rolling paper between the points contacts and give a gentle tug while rotating the circuit breaker. When the paper slips out it serves the same purpose as the meter or light: the points just opened. It comes out of the same tool box as using a matchbook to set the points gap. Or even a beer tab (when they came off of the cans) for plug gap. The shade tree, scooter tramp tool box ;^) BTW, those two piece points and condenser are the same as out of an old Chevy 6 cylinder. I've been riding and wrenching on a modified 62FL for forty years now and I enjoy your videos. Hell, I even learn something now and again. Heh. Thanks! Drift

ok, that is roil tobacco paper. cellophane plastic works good too. anything that is very thin will work. anyone with an old harley knows all these tricks or should. tatro
