This being a safety item why not upgrade to a more modern master cyinder / booster. I refitted my 1951 Dodge mayfair with a Master cylinder and booster out of a 2002 dodge caravan. with front disc brakes, no regrets. I know original is nice but not always practical.

Yay Miles! Congrats on finding that key. It is an upscale, aftermarket key, not an original factory issue. The lock position locks the ignition switch and does not allow the switch to be turned on without the key. The off position does allow the switch to be turned on without the key. Just a GM thing for some reason.

Scott, the intro fit the episode to a T! Finding a rebuild kit for a 65 year old vacuum booster is a feat unto itself! Congrats on that! Painting the virtually invisible parts is a very smart preservation move! After several more years there will not be any parts cars left! So the Buick will remain intact long after it would with hidden bare metal bits! The upholstery segment was impressive! Hey just glue a boot or two onto that Grip Safe side wall defect and keep the Ford under 50 and she'll last! Those Rustoleum rattle can primer/finish paints actually hold up over time! I used a bunch on my 66 VW resto interior, but because my age caught up on me I sold the VW for decent money and the guy who has it is still smiling a few years down the road! Mega Cheers to you and the Cold War Motors gang for a great start to the new year!
