This being a safety item why not upgrade to a more modern master cyinder / booster. I refitted my 1951 Dodge mayfair with a Master cylinder and booster out of a 2002 dodge caravan. with front disc brakes, no regrets. I know original is nice but not always practical.

I'm amazed every time when you can just order parts for a 60 year old car in Canada/U.S. Finding that key! 👍😎👍 I'm so jealous that Myles gets to drive such cool Mopars on a daily basis. Frankers and the packaging 😄 I always read different names of the patreons in the end credits - gotta say a shout out to the funniest I've spotted so far 'Shatners Toupee' 😂

I'm running my grandma's 1929 127 treadle, though I usually run it on a motor as I'm a bit too tall to be comfortable keeping a good speed without hitting my knees under the table. So I have to keep my legs and feet out to treadle. So, Chineseium motor while I restore an appropriate period motor and light for it. Buick is coming along awesome, cheers man!

Yay Miles! Congrats on finding that key. It is an upscale, aftermarket key, not an original factory issue. The lock position locks the ignition switch and does not allow the switch to be turned on without the key. The off position does allow the switch to be turned on without the key. Just a GM thing for some reason.

Scott, the intro fit the episode to a T! Finding a rebuild kit for a 65 year old vacuum booster is a feat unto itself! Congrats on that! Painting the virtually invisible parts is a very smart preservation move! After several more years there will not be any parts cars left! So the Buick will remain intact long after it would with hidden bare metal bits! The upholstery segment was impressive! Hey just glue a boot or two onto that Grip Safe side wall defect and keep the Ford under 50 and she'll last! Those Rustoleum rattle can primer/finish paints actually hold up over time! I used a bunch on my 66 VW resto interior, but because my age caught up on me I sold the VW for decent money and the guy who has it is still smiling a few years down the road! Mega Cheers to you and the Cold War Motors gang for a great start to the new year!

Ok guys the Buick key Myles found were blanks you could buy at K-Mart and have cut to fit your car. Other stores sold them too. And the lock on the ignition is to lock the ignition. You'll notice you can pull the key out at off as well. Some folks would leave the ignition unlocked and lock their doors so they didn't need to put a key in the ignition. Those cars got stolen a lot. Cheers 🇨🇦

Amazes me what you can still buy for parts - can’t believe there are still rebuild kits for that booster/master combo! Fortunate though .
