Im not the biggest fan of Mopar, but this is a beautiful car. If you ever need any parts or any info at all about this car, reach out to Jed Scott. He has a channel on here called "Scott's Speed Shop". He's a few years younger than us, only about 30, but Ive never seen anybody as knowledgeable about Mopar stuff as him. He has a 70 Charger, and his dad has a gorgeouw 68 Charger R/T that they restored a couple years back. I think it was a 383 car, but he built a 426 Hemi to put in it. Anyway, Jed has a ton of old, hard to find, rare Mopar parts. What he doesnt have, he knows somebody who will. Even if you dont need any parts, and just need information, he's like a walkin encyclopedia on Mopar. He mainly specializes in the late 60's-early 70's muscle cars, but I know he's built at least one "Red Ram" Hemi. He's a super nice young man too. Anyway, just wanted to give you a contact, if you ever need anything for this car, whether it be parts, or just info.

Came here to post the same thing built rhe 241 dodge red ram they are very helpful and can rebuild the rocker arms and have special custom bell housing available to manual ford or chevy Trans and water pump adapter with engine stands the 2 x 2 intake is the best the 3 x 2 is a little to much and the single 4 bl just doesn't look right on a coup 180 hp and the stock cam can be re ground to a mild performance cam . Sanders makes tube headers center dump . Not the world's fastest engine but the cool factor is off the charts.

Depending on how far you want to go with the hemi, you could try reaching out to Comp, Isky, Howards, Crower....any of the Old Skool speed parts manufacturers from the 50's n 60's that are still around today. There's a possibility they may still have records, part no's, profiles, specs, etc in their archives relating to that engine family....it's worth a shot. 🏁

Hemi heads came from the ford ardun heads desinged by Arcus Duntov for ford flatheads to give them more power. They were originally used on ford trucks used in high altitudes. I read an article a long time ago that a guy who rebuilt ardun heads, said the Chrysler hemi heads were so close, he used Chrysler valves and other parts to rebuild the Ardun heads. Ardun heads were around before Chrysler hemis.

I never pulled an engine, but did break it down while still in the 64 ford falcon wagon. Pistons locked up tight. I was 14. My 16 year old brother left the hood off, spark plugs out and a raggedy old blanket on it throughout the cold northern Ohio winter. Lots of elbow grease and will power sledge and 2X4 to get them moving again… I got it running and drove it around the fields.

This is a perfect example of why you should always power wash things before you work on them. Hopefully lesson learned.

The real early hemi is very heavy and not a lot of horsepower for the weight. Something to consider

They had lots of cool stuff at that junk yard. I hope you can find the parts so you can rebuild it. I know a lot of people who used the 2 speed transmission in drag racing. I think it's the perfect engine and transmission setup for the T. Even with factory cam and lifters, it will have so much more horsepower than the T would need to be crazy fun. I really enjoyed the video. Looking forward to the future videos. Take care and I'll see you later.

Those ridge reamers are really handy, easy to use, makes removing and replacing pistons a breeze and not very expensive at your local parts store or the Amazon 😊

Greetings from Florida, big fan and truly love what y'all are doing. Love that it's a true family affair. Reminds me of when I was young working on stuff with my dad. I wanted to also say I've had great luck using ATF usually used. I pour it right down the carburetor until it won't take any more and an orange cheap funnel will thread into the spark plug holes and fill up all the cylinders close the hood and give her a few days to sink into the rings and pouring it down the carburetor helps to lube stuck valves and every thing including the spark plugs come out way easier.Think about the inside of an auto transmission? Super clean, your pistons are built out of about the same aluminum. that the tranny' fluid keeps so clean .plus ATF is thinner than oil so it gets past the rings and into all the little places . If it doesn't move in the first week or so give it another couple days if possible.. I won't say I've been able to get every one broke loose but I'd say 90 percent of the time it will work. Also use the flywheel and a tire tool/big screw driver. You have Way more leverage from the flywheel. Another thing is from my experience a good engine will freeze up way quicker than a wore out engine. Rings are tighter and such you know what I'm trying to say. Another good one is diesel fuel and ATF cheaper than filling it with transmission fluid. I've even used snow bowl toilet cleaner in extreme situations but be careful with that if you trying to run without rebuilding it. Congrats on your hemi great addition to the collection.

Being British myself i had to laugh why Josh pronounced 'ren-ault' (it's ren-oh) phonetically I'm guessing there arnt many European cars over in Tennessee

Tennessee mini bike should be orange ? Nice choice for the T. Those old Hemi's are Cool with a capitol C. Knowing you bought it for the engine, collabing with someone like JAMS would make sense. They have parts for it & would probably be cool with trading content & keeping the body for another project. May even trade you a running one to keep numbers matching for the vehicle. Ty for taking us along

I used to work for a machinist who made mastodon performance heads for early hemis he might still have a set laying around. That is definitely a cool motor to save but that car would be awesome to save too! Mullet!

Japanese car manufacturers actually rebadged American cars as a Japanese car too. For instance a Toyota Cavalier, a Chevy Cavalier with right hand drive.

We used to trickout the dual point unitd with rewire internals and toggle swithes. We'd set the dwell at two different angles one for a hole shot the other for best top end.

On the mini bike if the engine is a Tecumseh you’re better off with a Briggs and Stratton of that era to build.

if you end up needing another engine try one from a daimler sp250 its a similar vintage not quite as old, with more power and less weight and comes with a manual gearbox. it's still a hemi as well ,you also get them in the daimler badged version of either the mk 1 or mk2 jag.
