🤣 lovely to know what a real one should feel and play like!

@@EdgeofBreakup you know you'd slap an Emerson kit in that thing with treble bleeds, in a hot minute. 59' or not. 😝😝

@Wadey1960CS hahahaha I wish. I have two late ‘60s Gibson semihollows that I haven’t modded yet. I really want to tho, at least the treble bleed! It’s a must have 🤣 Volume knobs are unusable without them

WOW! It would be great to hear it thru a fender blackface with no fx. Or a full vintage Marshall stack!

So how does your R9 compare to the original burst? How do you think the R9 compared when you had the sunbear pickups in it?
@EdgeofBreakupАй бұрын
The R8 currently has Ron Ellis Signature Humbuckers in it, and the Giordano has the Sunbear ‘59 SB-PAFs. The Giordano has much better tuning stability than any Gibson I’ve ever played. It was a real treat to play this actual 59 though so that I know what one should feel and sound like through my rig! If I ever bought a real burst, I would be in a pinched position because I would want to add treble bleeds to match my playing style for when I wanna turn the volume down without going to mud, but there is no way I could ever modify a vintage Gibson. This is why I tend to work with small indie makers and get guitars made to my specs. That being said the 59 burst was the lightest les Paul I’ve ever held by far, and it felt great - really really awesome humbucker pickups too! Perfect setup/action. Black Magic Guitars has some fantastic vintage stuff, make sure to follow them on Instagram

But how does the reissue compare to the real deal burst?@@EdgeofBreakup
@EdgeofBreakupАй бұрын
The real one is definitely better, but the reissues are close enough if you know how to fix them up - better wiring, pots, caps etc, better pickups, nut checked and recut if needed, action and intonation sorted. The reissues have so many fucking problems, and the OG 59 didn’t have those. Hope that helps.
