Alone the decent smile at 2:20 says all! All these new pedals seem to sound good, more or less different, but for me this one really nails the tone excellently. These new, nicely affordable MIAB pedal series and the new (unfortunately not so cheap) modded Marshalls from Marshall are the best releases since years for me. Long overdue, but finally they did it. Thank you!

@@marshall I think so. I was not so happy with Marshall from the 1990's on, but during the last years Marshall again has more become the amp company, it - in my opinion - always should have been. Starting with the 1959HW and the Origin releases, the Studios and this year even with more great new releases as these pedals and maybe even more the Modified Marshalls, which certainly will find their fans. A modified JTM45 or 2061 also would be nice and maybe even nicer a modified JMP-1 preamp with some more modern real high-gain sounds too, maybe as a 5th channel or as a modified OD 2 channel. I still use mine, it sounds great and works fine even today, while my Triaxis and E530 long have gone. ;-)

JTM45 is a good pedal platform--similar to a bassman. I would like to hear the pedals through other amps, like a fender or a supro, etc., but I think this still gives a sense of what the pedals sound like.

If you really want to show how this pedal will give "any amp that Plexi tone", I would suggest demoing it with something other than a Marshall amp! 🤭
@cirenosnor57686 күн бұрын
@thepirhomancer9745 - It probably is irrelevant if the amp is a Marshall or not…because people are gonna likely run this pedal through the *clean* channel of a solid state preferably tube amp. As long as the amp has a good clean channel as a platform for this (or any?) pedal, you’ll be fine
@thepirhomancer97456 күн бұрын
@cirenosnor5768 Yeah, I know, I was just being silly, just seemed funny to me to demo a pedal that supposedly makes any amp sound like a Plexi.......through an amp that already sounds like a Plexi! 😆

@@costasavarikas1891 For me, most amps at low volume sound roughly the same, they're just pedal platforms, which is how I run my amps, clean and colored with pedals, a Plexi's true sound happens when you crank it and the innards start cooking, that's when they come to life and you get the real character of the amp.

Sounds great no need to change anything hit the front of my JCM-800 or my Plexi 1959 with this pedal as soon as they our available I will check a couple of these out . Make a Jimi Hendrix version of the 1959 super lead with his woodstock 69 modifications and the marshall engineers need to add controls to make this pedal feedback getting feedbacking overtone harmonics very easy it should sustain notes very long like Santana. The faceplate artworks can have Hendrix torn up grey cover cabinets and marshall head woodstock modifications like what PRS paul reed smith has a hendrix woodstock mods amplifier make this into a pedal asap.
@Stereostupid7 күн бұрын
That would be kinda cool!

Agreed! Why isn't there more artist signature amps? Look at Gibson. So many signature models for guitars. I'm baffled that Marshall is so behind with this. Marshall is THE TONE.

Wtf are you talking about? Oh a fuzz face!?
@costasavarikas18915 күн бұрын
I'm not sure but I don't think Hendrix's amps were modified they were just stock Marshalls. He got his distortion and sustain from fuzz face and wah pedals. Now his fuzz may have been modified specially the Woodstock one. But any fuzz face will get you in the ballpark imo.

So, we're hearing the pedal through a JTM45 that has KT66 power tubes. These tubes are going to mellow the tone a bit and have less punch in the mid range. So, keep that in mind. A demo that features an amp with EL34 power tubes and a bit more info in terms of the signal chain, especially any processing, would be helpful.

I'm hearing artifacts that I love from plexis in this, but since they're using a jtm45 it's hard to know if it's from the pedal or amp. Other than that it sounds good. I'd be tempted to try it.

Get a compression pedal if thats what you want, these are for tone, not sustain.

The 1959 offers a smooth overdrive with great sustain, while the JVM provides a smooth, higher-gain tone that's fantastic for legato playing, offering plenty of sustain as well. Both would give you great sustain, depending on the tone you're after!

I don't understand the signal chain we have. We are using a JTM45 and then adding the pedal. So we are basically hitting a Plexi with a Plexi? Probably a great pedal. I love my marshall amps and pedals, I just don't get the demo. Help...?
@costasavarikas18916 күн бұрын
But the amp was set to just a generic basic clean tone tho that you can get outta pretty much any amp. That's my 2¢
@felixmueller80146 күн бұрын
I'm sure that was the intention, but giving an amp like this a boost in loudness will take it out of the boring clean territory it was in 😅

@@costasavarikas1891you can't set a JTM45 to a "generic clean tone" it has its own inherent tone even at low gain settings. Why don't people get this?

If you set the volume low it will stay clean if you don’t boost with lots of sheer volume
@costasavarikas18915 күн бұрын
@@2204JCM yes and no I get what you're saying but I think maybe you're missing the point of this demo. His amp is set clean, a dark clean at that. Any marshall can be set much brighter than his foundation tone here. this is a distortion pedal you can run through ANY amp just like any distortion pedal or fuzz. Now the pedal supercedes the amplifier and the EQ knobs become more important than what circuit you're running through imo. You can set a blackface fender or even a solid state amp to "dark clean"

Like he said in the video: it's all analog, so no. If you want a Plexi-style pedal that can store presets, check out the Strymon Iridium, UA Lion or maybe NUX Amp Central. These are digital pedals that can store presets. If you want an analog pedal you need to look at ones with two channels, like the Jackson Audio Asabi or Friedman BE-OD Deluxe (although the Friedman higher gain than a standard Plexi). A one-channel analog pedal with an integrated boost or drive could work as well. Bogner La Grange, Carl Martin Plexi Ranger, Tech21 Hot Rod Plexi are some examples.
