@nwordntacles You could put these pedals in front of virtually any tube amp that isn't being pushed with a lot of gain, and you will hear the same thing. That is the entire purpose of these OD pedals. If your running a clean or cleanish sound on the amp, you get the modeling of the intended amp the pedal is designed for. Marshall Plexi is a Fender style amp. It's called 1959 Super Lead because it was a UK made clone/derivative of the Fender 1959 Tweed Bassman, which became the basis of the JTM-45 and by replacing the tubes, using a solid state rather than tube rectifier and that was the Plexi. It's a well known clean pedal platorm at lower volumes and really close to a Fender.
@隠れた花8 күн бұрын
@ I’m well aware of the history..
@221b-l3t8 күн бұрын
@@隠れた花 Apparently not because you complain you want a Fender, the Marshall Plexi was a Made in UK Fender because Jim's shop was constantly sold out of Fender amps he needed something for the Fender customer that could be made locally and didn't depend on expensive imports. So sonically you are getting exactly what you wanted and what, a Marshall guy comes to your shop and you use a Fender? That's not how it works. And he has it very clean at that point it just is an amplifier not adding a lot of colour.
@隠れた花7 күн бұрын
@@221b-l3t no. Sonically it does not sound exactly like a fender.
@221b-l3t7 күн бұрын
@@隠れた花 Not exactly but it certainly qualifies as a Fender style amp and they have it on lower volume, as a clean platform. Listen I get it but it's a Marshall sponsered video, I'm sure there will be reviews by independent people once it's released. They aren't going to use a Fender or Vox to demo Marshall pedals, which have always been pedals that imitate amps, like the Gvnor veing basically a JCM800 emulator. They're usually very good and I'm sure they will soon be demoed by other people. It's too bad Andertons could have compared the pedals (using probably a Victory amp...) to the amps, I'm sure they stock them all.

I like the 900 personally. My understanding is that it's basically a Tubescreamer with an adjustable midrange hump. You can scoop the sound as well as boost the mids, which I think would be very useful to many players, not just those chasing the "Marshall sound'. I'd consider getting one to go with my JCM800 studio. The main appeal of these pedals is probably chasing the Marshall sound, but 900, DSL and JVM have features that would be useful beyond that demographic.
