We try and get a 1959 Canadian Pontiac Parisienne to run but the timing gear or cam is broken. Distributer will not turn. This is a 1 owner field find car. Hot Rod Pontiac.

THANK GOD YOUR DOING ANOTHER PONTIAC. AND A 59 YET. 59 and 60 were similar years . 58 styling was one year only. This is straight up a 59 Pontiac Body but on a Chevy chassis with the Chevy drivetrain. So rare these Canadian Pontiacs.

another great looking Pontiac had experience with cam braking into two parts on 235 engine hence no dist turning. Cost to repair needs engine exchanged, Good reason to make it a v8 Pontiac anyway, also use some wheel spacers to make it a true wide track. You Guys sure have a wonderful collection of cars that everyone I know would envy.

Enjoy your day and I can't wait to see the conclusion of this one. My first car was a 1959 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 sedan. 350 cu in V8 and it was 21'+ long and 9'4" wide. Was a good one for my deals but I didn't get the last time to ride it. Pride oh well. Tired beyond belief.

I would pull the valve cover and see if any rockers move if none move it will be either 1)timing chain or gears 2)end of the cam broke 3) crank broke on a main journal, if only a few move between the tc/gears and the distributor it's the cam. Quick and easy to do.

That's a cool car. If you don't feel like fooling with it, find a good home for it. Somebody will restore that car and give it a good home. It's a 2 door hard top. Those are almost always cool. It'd be a shame to let it sit there and rot, or get smashed up by punks.

@@pennyshotrodscustoms That's good to hear. Those cars are rolling works of art. A real high point for style. It's a good idea to restore and preserve as many of them as possible because there's never going to be anything like them again. I found a '59 Impals back in '83. It was really clean and straight. The body was near perfect, all the glass was there, and the interior was fine except for carpet. It didn't take much more than an engine, a front end, a new set of tires, and some brake work and she was good to go. It was an amazing car!
