This is the first time I watched this on a larger screen than my phone. A total delight watching the transformation from rust to shine. I like the way you constructed the ladder hanger and the metallic finish on the truck is beautiful! Gotta put this one into the Hall Of Fame for sure, Chip!

This Tonka truck is from the same year that I was born. I did have some Tonka toys as a kid and it's a treasured part of my childhood memories and sparked my imagination when I played with them. Not many toys were built so well that they would outlast a childhood and could still be appreciated two generations later. Thank you so much for restoring some of what is so worth saving and would otherwise be lost to time and rust.

These toys are all absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship and care that goes into them are indescribable. No wonder they are so sought after and admired. I can bet that if you were to give this to a child nowadays they would love them and treasure them forever. They need to start making things like this again. These are quality products that never go out of style. The restoration work is incredible as well and the gentleman doing the work is an absolute artisan and skilled genius, period.
Very nice truck! Love the metal-flake blue, very well done! Your usual high level of quality finishes & attention to detail show through as always! Very enjoyable, thank you for the entertainment!

Beautiful job! It gives me a warm feeling to see these toys being restored to like-new condition. It gives me the feeling that not all of my childhood is completely lost. The sand blasting works amazingly well for removing rust, the bane of these old steel sheet metal toys. I love that you paint all sides of the metal, even those that will not bee seen, which will make this restoration last longer than the original toy. It's also wonderful that you have a source of wheels, tires, whitewalls and hubcaps. Very nicely done.

Very cool. I really like the metal repair. The paint drying was really cool. It's my favorite car color. For my personal preference, I kinda like the original blue to keep the retro look. It's not a criticism, when restoring to original, that what in usually favor. That does not take away any of the awesome work. Such a cool video!

Blue, I'm soooo blue! Very nice job of giving this hard working truck a makeover. Can't believe that Tonka did not put a flip-up tailgate on this beauty. Chip , it looks like on video that you missed a few spots on the pink primer. (Around the cab/bed box joint). That funky color may give that impression.
