1960 MGA interior progress update

We update the progress on the 1960 MGA 1600 interior with work the door top rails and carpet. We touch on things to keep in mind when fitting the rails and yet more issues that can arise with aftermarket parts or even using parts from different cars, this time with the cockpit corner rail pieces. We then explain our installation of the spare tire cover and carpet on the battery cover. Look for the upcoming video where we continue to install the carpet over door sills preparing this car to go on Bring A Trailer.

Long ago, in the late 80s, I began my career at a dubious company in Belgium. We were on the road with a truck (Hannomag Henschel) loaded with parts and body shells from England. Due to regulations, I got the opportunity to drive an MGB-GT from Dover to Calais and then to the garage in Belgium. This was truly a memorable experience for me as a 16-year-old boy without a driver's license. Along the way, I passed a bus full of elderly women, and they were genuinely glued to the bus windows. A 16-year-old boy on the highway in an MGB-GT. Looking back, it's both irresponsible to let an unlicensed 16-year-old drive, but it also highlights a very different time-one that wasn't constrained by the regulations that we find ourselves bound by today.

Noticed the windshield gasket doesn’t sit well . I assume after market ? It’s still a beautiful car ….. Great content.

The windshield seal was never trimmed to length as the owner was going to send his original one off to get re-chromed and didn’t want to trim it until that one was installed. This one was his temporary windshield
