I like field trips to the shows and vendors and road trips. I like to see what inspires you and your friend's builds. I enjoy all the build stuff . I like the parts bin / swap meet find type motor and maintenance work. Doing the stuff that keeps these cars on the road.

Show footage is always cool, I'd say go for it. Up here in snow belt country, shows are done for the year and seeing cars is like a dose of vitamin D, warding off the seasonal sunless depression!

Thanks for another vid! The bread pan was a great idea, ima call them "JB's Rainshields" :) those lights are going to be bitchin! I've made 1 roof rack in my day and I based it of the factory accessory steel roof rack but made it go from the wing window to the top of the back window and it was tough! I hauled 3 complete motors up there once 💪🏻 I used 1/4 solid stock to fit the drip rails and 1/2 electrical conduit for the tubing

Thanks Nate! Although I can’t take credit for the pans, I wasn’t the first one to come up with that idea I later found out. Good info on your build, wasn’t sure if I should use 1/2” or 3/4” like the nerf bars are…. If 1/2” worked well enough for you then it should be wrong enough for what little I’ll do 😂 Appreciate it!!

I might be in the minority but I honestly never watch car show coverage videos. There's always so much to see that cars don't seem to get good coverage and yet the videos seem to drag on as the person videoing tries to get as many cars included as possible. A video showing prep for the show, if you are driving there, a quick overview of the show and a personal opinion on if the show is worth hitting up next year, and maybe a couple spotlight features on cars that grab your attention would be the car show coverage that I'd like to see. The sickxty keeps getting better! I really like that VACP fire extinguisher mount! Slick!

We’re in the same boat. It’s difficult to properly showcase a large event and most of the time the videos seem boring. I’m toying with the idea of doing a pov show coverage, if I can get the camera to work.

As for show coverage, I do show coverage because it's part of the VW scene/lifestyle. I realize my 'show videos' have, in general, the low views, but its more than just views. It's a vacation from the normal and highlights good folks and their builds. It's how people, and especially *ME* get inspiration. People can choose to view the coverage or not, like my viewers do. But for me, it's all part of the build. Someday I hope to be able to make my show videos more of a detailed inspection of what people are doing and how they're doing it. So instead of a show video with tons of cars, short videos highlighting a particular build... to me that would be cool. Besides, where would we be without the community?

Those are some great points. I sure wish my camera didn’t fully die this weekend as I had a cool plan to cover one of the largest Florida VW shows…. Things happen though. Plenty more to come next year.

Hi Gary, kinda off topic but had to share what a new viewer from Cuba ask me. I've been doing a restore series on a 1947 Johnson 5hp TD-20 vintage outboard motor and he asked if it would work on one of their classic bicycles down there? I told him first if all there is no shift on these but direct drive. Once you start it it's moving. Another issue is it's water cooled so he would need a continuous water flow to cool the motor. Then modifying the gear drive to run the sprockets and chain. Probably could be done but allot of work. But a heck of allot cheaper than electric conversion. I've seen this on VW'S but cost allot of money to set up. Just putting this out there for opinions.

If he could find an older AirCooled outboard that might be an option with some sort of cv drive like what’s on go karts. Definitely a cool idea to mess around with.

Thanks man! I can’t take credit for the pans though, I’m sure it’s been done before. I found the mat on Amazon, 1/2” thick exercise mat. It’s too thick to tuck in the gap of the roof though.
