So many comments I could make but the one thing that really stood out for me was how slim people were. The 60s/70s were the best years of my life. Really enjoyed the clip.😎

Of course they were slim. The stinking filth food from the yanks hadn’t arrived yet.

Different world back then. Not all good. But more optimism for the future and opportunities. When working harder paid off.

Walked down there then and still walk there today. Gone are the independent clothes shops. Plenty of people still doing the same thing, walking, talking, sitting inside and outside bars and restaurants. The unbeatable Kings Road, Chelsea.

I miss that time of our lives. Kind of wish you had the sound though. Thank you for loading these glimpses of the greatest decades to have lived through.💗 The youth of today have no idea and never will.

It would take another Baby Boom _and_ a long-term economic boom to bring something like that about again.

@@johnnyb8825 But nothing would be new. Every week in the 60s, there was something new -- a new fashion idea, a new Tamla Motown record, a new Habitat item, a new recommendation from Cathy McGowan etc.

@@johnnyb8825 Example - Any new skirt length, heel height, trouser bottom, waist height has been done before. In the 60s, SO many things were new. And that's just fashion. Not much has changed fashionwise for the past 20 years.

Love the Marcos 1800 GT turning left at the beginning of the clip. The Kings Road Car. I remember great cheap food at the Chelsea kitchen

Very nice, thank you very much. The large building at the left back of most clips is Peter Jones department store. I started working there as a 17 year old from 1972 to 1977 - so during the time this film was shot. The Kings Road was my playground🙂 What a fantastic time to be there.

Interesting - how do you know the date so precisely? Anyway, thekinolibrary certainly ought to be less vague in their title, especially as they are trying to flog this stuff!

This is 1969. They'll all be in their 70s now. I wonder if any of them know that they have been captured forever on film - a part of social history.

Gorgeous footage. Why do you think people were slimmer back then? Was it really as simple as less junk food more exercise? Surely that can't be it? Maybe it is.
