1960s Buddy L Light Up Fix A Flat Tire Tow Truck Restoration

I purchased this 1960s Buddy L Light Up Fix A Flat Tire Tow Truck on HiBid March of 2021.This thing wasn't even blown off before being sent off to auction. It still was covered in spider webs and dirt all over it. Makes you wonder where this poor truck has been sitting for years. Overall it wasn't in terrible shape, just very well played with. The worst of the rust was on the passenger side rear of the tow truck bed. It was missing a windshield, the wrench for the tires, the flat tire, and tow hook otherwise it was in decent shape for its age. I'm not extremely happy with the color choice for this one and typically like something with a little more shine to it, however I believe it's very close to the orginal finish the truck would have had. I'm a sucker for the light up trucks so this one will look great with the rest of them. When I was putting the Light cover on top it actually broke in half and I had to glue it back together to get the video out, I've got a new one on order as well as a replacement windshield. The windshield that I recieved was scratched ont he inside. I'm not 100% sure that I didn't scratch it after recieving it however It may have came that way also, either way it'll be replaced again. Beautiful restoration! Absolutely love the color! About 20 years ago (or so) my mom and I were at a yard sale. I think the reason why we went down to the homeowners basement was because there was a set of weights my mom wanted to buy. The lady didn’t want to haul all of the pieces up in case nobody was interested in them, naturally. So we’re down there and mom spots a vintage aqua Buddy L car carrier. Mom asked her what she wanted for it and she said 50 cents! The lady told her she didn’t think anybody would want it! It was in amazing condition! There was a little paint loss by where the cab and trailer meet. The white wheels are pure white. Both ramps are still there, but no cars. There were a few more things we bought from her basement that nobody else at the sale saw, but that car carrier was the best! Love all your videos! Glad the sheep are back (I got a little worried in the intro). ❤️
