Joe… I told the owner we can take it to the lake I’m March when the ice melts or whenever they are ready. Probably I’m late March or early April

Thanks for getting back to me so fast I will send my email information do you know how to hook up a tach on these old motors do I just wrap the wire around the number one spark plug wire or is there someplace that it plugs in any help would be appreciated

Joe… this vintage may not have a tach wire in the harness. Usually it will be a gray wire but is only present on 1969 -1970 85 hp models that have an alternator. Otherwise yes you could attach or wrap a mini-tach to the number one cylinder.

Where is the timing scribe on the distributor bracket I can't find it

Joe…. The scribe mark for the pulley bracket can only be seen if you remove the pull starter. I can send you pics if you email me at [e-mail]
