+Kevin Neal but this one doesn't have the racing pedegree of 4153GT and this one is actually for sale while the other wasn't. 45-60 seems to be a realistic estimation but we'll have to wait to see if that's right. 84 millions tought seems like really too much

can't even watch this video. not a single onboard shot. what real drivers like is no concern for any type of business today. you can reach more customers if you build comfortable luxury garbage than drivers cars, you can reach more viewers if you make a ****ing disgusting vlog than a video targeted at people who like driving and not just looking at cars and listening to morons.... today everything is all about profits and hipsters/idiots/luxury goods. so go build your own car, do an engine swap, or just buy something lightweight and have fun with it. as ironic as it seems all classic/used drivers cars are being bought by the same customers who make lamborghini decide to stop producing their iconic gated 6-speed manual box, and they are becoming unaffordable thanks to inflation, those who profit from inflation (by being able to take millions of credit from banks), collectors who are stupid/arrogant enough to think driving machines are art, investors who honestly believe that cars are investments even though they are not (they can only count as investments if you're spotting/predicting trends and selling every car max 2 years after you bought it, and if you're buying and selling right away you aren't an investor in my eyes, you're a car dealer or someone ruining the market but since you can't/don't invest in cars long term (because that's a gamble) you're not an investor) or who simply have to much money and can't find better investments because the 1800 billionaires in our world have already bought every inch of our world and every product which holds its value over time.

it's a trend that can't be stopped so we have to learn to live with it and just build our own stuff. motortrend starts producing videos for kids, performance brands build SUVs, morons make the prices of driverscars skyrocket by being arrogant enough to deny the fact cars are driving machines instead of art and collecting them like they are furniture or drawings, or by being able to destroy the market with electronic money, the car section of youtube consists of the vlogs of teenagers, BMW develops useless gadgets (gesture control) and couldn't care less about continuing to build milestone cars, etc etc. I'm 25 and I sound like a grandpa "everything was better in the past" "I hate change" and as legit as my opinion is I just have to move on. it's like we're enthusiasts of steam engines and everyone else has moved on so we can decide to be depressed or to build our own cars, no 3rd option. it's a bad example because we're rightfully holding on to our ideal of cars (shouldn't have useless features, should involve the driver as much as possible, should be fun) and the "future" is bullshit (electric cars suck and aren't environmentally friendly, gadgets are for kids, luxury garbage is garbage, at a certain point comfort is unnecessary or at least far from a priority, cars are fun, etc.).

I wonder if Ferrari are pissed when a collector sells a GTO....
@FUNZO1975
@FUNZO1975 6 жыл бұрын
+Jon Not at all. When a GTO is sold it all-most always sells for more than the last one, and that raises the brand's image to be even greater than it already is. These cars are great marketing for Ferrari.
@pope400
@pope400 6 жыл бұрын
@@FUNZO1975 I suppose so. But if that were the philosophy, they wouldn't have had to lease F50s for fear of flipping.
@FUNZO1975
@FUNZO1975 6 жыл бұрын
+Jon I do remember that, it was said to be in response to the buying/selling at very inflated prices of the F40. Ferrari only wanted buyers whom were REAL enthusiasts to get F50's and I don't blame them. Also, the F50 wasn't likely to become an icon of racing history like the GTO was and Ferrari knew it. However the 62-64 GTO's are in a completely different world. First of all their time had come and gone a long time ago. Back then it was hard to get even a quarter of the cost out of a used race car when the tech in the "new" cars had superseded them, even if the "old" car was in good shape and was new only 3 or 4 years earlier. No one was thinking in terms of the "collectability" these cars would have do to their historic significance. Also, the amount of racing that these cars are subjected to in current times is quite amazing considering the value that they have. It seems that amongst the very limited number of owners (39 cars total) most of them get those cars to as many track events as possible. It's as if the majority of owners don't respect the few whom won't risk their cars by bringing them out for the notable historic races that happen yearly in different parts of the world. Ferrari had nothing to do with that kind of culture surrounding the GTO, it happened inside the circle of owners whom ended up with these cars as the values had risen. And it seems that no mater how insanely expensive the GTO's get, if you can get one and you DON'T have it brought and driven at Goodwood or any of the other events where these cars are driven in anger (and they really are, it's beautiful) then the other owners will consider you a pussy. This kind of atmosphere around the GTO is something that Ferrari's marketing people can only capitalize on because there is nothing that they can do to control it. And they are also quite aware that they would be stupid to change any of this even if they could.

Very odd that he limits F40 at 155mph, that is sunday driver speeds for any sportscar on street let alone F40 on racetrack. Maybe he would enjoy and know his cars better if he had driven them and not just park them.
