1962 Ghia L 6.4 Coupe & Engine Start @ AZ Concours d’Elegance on My Car Story with Lou Costabile

On "My Car Story" we're in Phoenix AZ at the Biltmore Hotel for the Arizona Concours d’Elegance on 1-24-16.
We're looking at a 1962 Ghia L 6.4 Coupe.
The car's Owner is John White. John shares this car was in the 1962 New York Auto Show. What a treat to see this car and hear John tell the story!

Lou, I remember these beautiful cars when my interest in sports cars was budding. Real styling, proportion, and symmetry! A feller could say this has a “mouth watering” effect!

Every little boy who played with toy cars in the 60s remembers this car - it was the first die cast model to have 'the works'; that meant opening doors, opening hood and opening trunk. Corgi toys made it; the same folks who did the James Bond car and the Batmobile!

You really find incredibly rare and stunning cars: this is a masterpiece in style by master Ghia: one of the best Italian car designer ever. Simplcity and pure lines are the key for elegance and classic style. American cars were surely beautiful too, however often with too much chrome and useless complicate designs. Thanks for this rare pearl!

It really looks like a Chrysler / Ghia product....if you never knew about this car, you probably didn't know about the Ghia Chrysler Connection from the early 50's to mid 1960's. Ghia did many Chrysler Show Cars. they did the bodies of the Chrysler Turbine too. This car is totally not a hodge-podge but the normal evolution of the Ghia Chrysler connection

Typical late fifties/ early sixties styling cues, yet the car points to the Plymouth Barracuda and late sixties Chrysler models yet to come. I love it, even wanting one.
