Bought an early 2000 Gibson/ Maestro FZ-1A reissue. Finally had the time to do an „historic correct rebuild „ with all the original parts ( but the pots ) , including matched TO-7 can RCA 2N270 transistors! Even the knobs are original and time period correct Gibson ones.
Cable and jack is from the early 1960s as well..
The reissue had a jack socket instead of the cable to plug in your guitar; it’s also located on the opposite side of the enclosure.
We did NOT reprint the enclosure! It’s all original ( but not shiny anymore :))and aged by the #isleoftoneteam .
We’ve changed some values ( caps and
resistors) and in the end, it sounds like in this short video..
I’m using a 1969 Strat, Lee Jackson Mr. Springgy and an USA made Fender Pro Junior.
